Before we dive into the wedding, we have to share with you that Melanie is wearing her something blue wedding gown designed by Project Runway’s leanne marshall. How fun is that? Thanks to Heather Espana Photography for sharing this laid-back wedding with us.

About the day, in the bride’s words:
“David and I aren’t very formal people, so we set out to have a sweet, silly, homegrown, do-it-together wedding. we were married at queens county farm museum, which is one of our favorite places; it’s the only working farm within new york city limits, and it was the perfect mix of rural and urban for our laid-back wedding.

Below is a list of all the DIY’s that Melanie and David did for their wedding.

veil & bridesmaid’s flower fascinator
favors (we wrapped chocolates with patterned paper & made heart cutouts)
guest book (i took a leather photo album, glued tiny envelopes into it, and guests were asked to leave us notes on small cards, which are now tucked into the envelopes)
napkins (we used striped, herringbone-patterned bar mops)
flowers (my sister rebecca did all of the bridesmaids’ bouquets & reception flowers on the morning of… phew!
eating tags, flags, table numbers (made using great patterned paper found at paper source, kate’s paperie and paper mojo)

Paloma’s Nest is a preferred vendor and proud sponsor of the Wedding Chicks.

Krystal and Jonathan’s New York May wedding was  simple and elegant. With gorgeous spring florals from Denise Fasanello and the perfect mint green wedding shoes. This NYC wedding  from Missy Photography was first held at The Old St. Patrick’s on Prince and Mott Street. It is actually a very famous church in NYC it was the  first Roman Catholic Church in New York City.

The site of the famous Irish and American turf wars. But even more famously it was the church where the last scene in the Godfather was filmed.

Thank you for joining us for the second part of Matt and Tamar’s Real New York Wedding. Thanks to Angelica Glass Photography, we are able to share with you this NYC loft wedding.

I think that you are going to enjoy Matt and Tamar’s quirky details, especially the pretty in pink flower arrangements, designed by Petal NYC. They fit in perfectly with the decor that Michelle Ferrera set up for the loft space. You are go gaga for the horse bride and groom cake toppers, of course from an Etsy artist, Melabo. Is it me or has Etsy officially taken over the world.

If you are looking for a modern Ketubah look no further, New Ketubah has you covered.

Let’s get this party started with a super fly fresh NYC wedding from Angelica Glass.

We recently meet Angelica Glass at WPPI and she was the definition of awesome. She was dancing the night away and basically pure fun. Kinda like our next wedding. So, long story short is Angelica did not write a whole lot about their wedding so I kinda sneaked around and found their wedding web site and basically I am know officially in love with Tamar and Matt and wish I was able to attend their wedding.

Our wedding will begin with a cocktail hour, followed by the ceremony, followed by a cocktail-party style reception. Lots of spirited spirits, dancing, and yes, there will be definitely be LOTS of food. We’re just not opting for a sit-down/seating chart-style dinner. Why? Because we know a lot of you are total boozebags, because dancing at a party is more fun than sitting. (And if you’ve met Matt, and he doesn’t really sit around much.)

Weddings are real life and they reflect the couple and Tamar and Matt they are just keeping it real. On to the wedding!

All that is delicious will continue so stay tuned for more of  Matt & Tamar’s Real New York Wedding.
