Mormon Wedding

Thank you for sticking around to see the rest of Meg & Matthew’s wedding. They where married at Walnut Grove at Tierra Rejada in Thousand Oaks, Ca. Looks like a great rustic outdoor venue. You get 50 year-old walnut tree, oak barrels and gentle ocean breezes from the west. It looks and sounds quite lovely. I am going to let Meg share the rest of her details with you below.

From The Bride: For my center pieces I accomplished that by using milk and mason jars that my husband and I hunted down at Thrit Stores. Inside them we put different flowers such as chamomile, daisies, and crespedia a.k.a “buttons”. We also put in blueberry jelly bellys, candles and I wanted to put honey in some jars but it is obviously expensive and actually isn’t as yellow as I thought, so I put apple juice as a substitute. For our “sign in book” we decided to use a sign in tree. My florist made a miniature tree and put it in a pot. Instead of using  a sign in book, I had guests write a message or just even their names on a little tag and then hang it on a branch. Backyard Chick Wedding

Before we plunge into the darling details, I wanted to flaunt a bit more of Duston’s work. He really is a fine art photographer. I am pretty impressed by his work. I ended up going through pages and pages of his blog.

Twigs & Honey Belt

How adorable are Meg and Matthew?  Duston Todd Photography sent us this charming Thousand Oaks, California wedding. We wanted to start off with Meg and Matthew’s portraits and elaborate more on her dress and belt that I was gushing about earlier.

Meg’s belt is from Twigs & Honey. Meg was able to choose the colors, sizes, and positions of the flowers on the belt. Of course it is stunning! Her dress is actually last years Vera Wang Maids collection, which made it very affordable. Meg found the dress at the, “frolic,” bridal show.

Meg’s  bouquet was all baby’s breath that we bought at a local grocery store. And then the shrug is handmade by Elizabeth Dye owner/designer of the English Dept. A boutique in Portland, Oregon

All together including shipping the dress and accessories were under $800

Stay tuned for more prettiness from Duston Todd Photography!
