Loren + Richard’s wedding had so much eye candy, loved all the little creative details throughout the wedding day, lots of neat DIY ideas here!  So cute, the little button bouttoniere and button bouquet for the flower girl and ringbearer.  Loren loves the color purple, it was one of her wedding colors, everytime I turned around to photograph something in the girls getting ready room….it was purple.  Purple toothbrush, purple phone, purple lighter, purple bra strap, and the maid of honor’s cast was purple (she hurt her arm by falling off the electric bull at the bride’s bachelorette party!) along with all the other details for the actual wedding that were already purple….love it!

Desiree Spinner Events shared with us this delicious dessert table.

Each piece was hand selected to match the color scheme, silver Jordan almonds along with the perfect purple m&m’s.  All of the tasty goodies sat atop custom wooden boxes that were whitewashed specifically for the dessert table.

The cake truffles are one of Lisa Raffael’s, Delicous Desserts trademark confections, and were topped with white chocolate shavings and edible glitter. The cookies were simple sugar cookies, topped with the same edible glitter and a custom created frosting to match the rest of the table.

How tasty does this spread look?

I am super excited to share with you a darling wedding that Carter & Cook Event Co. shared with us. It is a total show stopper. Filled to the brim with charming details, just how you like it. Read on because Carter & Cook Event Co. spills the beans on all the juicy details.

The wedding theme was Up, up, up and Away! Their engagement pictures were taken with lots of heart balloons, and they wanted to carry this theme into their wedding. See the Engagement Session Here.

Liz and Rich were married at the The Darlington House in La Jolla, California. I have passed by it personally many times and can vouch that it is an adorable place to get married. On that note if you are throwing around destination wedding ideas, La Jolla is one to add to the list of possibilities. Delightful beach town, full of activities for out of town guests. Not to mention there are a ton unbelievable wedding vendors right at your finger tips.

Speaking of unbelievable wedding vendors, he and she photography are the masterminds behind the lens of Liz and Rich’s wedding.

Liz and Rich are quite the creative duo. Liz came up with so many of the ideas, and the adorable groom got to creating!

They handmade dozens and dozens of fabric pendants to hang throughout the grounds of the The Darlington House.  Rich and Liz also created a beautiful ribbon back drop for the ceremony. Imagine guests having to walk through a wall of ribbons to get their seats. Such a clever idea!

Another great idea that I think you might like was that each bridesmaid carried her own hear balloon down the aisle for the ceremony. Such a cute touch, and a creative way to save money on bouquets! The bridesmaid dresses were perfect for the color scheme for the day. Dresses can be found at Anthropologie.

Each guest’s seat had a cone filled with dozens of colorful, and homemade pom-poms to throw as the two newlyweds ran down the aisle.

The tables had a colorful, eclectic mix of vases and wildflowers to fit the playful wedding mood. Modern Bouquet did a fabulous job on those, and Liz’s bouquet. Such bright and cheery colors!

A colorful candy bar was filled with fun sweets and cotton candy. Another table was full of red velvet cupcakes, the father of the bride’s homemade chocolate chip cookies, and hot air balloon shaped sugar cookies. Their guests enjoyed the variety and ability to pick and choose favorites.

Running with the Up, up, up and Away theme Liz and Rich also wanted to have a pinata at the wedding, so the groom, Rich, handmade a colorful paper mache hot air balloon pinata for reception. It was so much fun to watch the two of them give it a whirl. The pinata broke and was filled with dozens of tooth brushes and tooth paste in honor of the brides grandfather “Doc”. They also felt it appropriate as they severed many sweets during the afternoon reception.

Despite the rain forecast, the weather held off perfectly. The guests lined the streets and waved the handmade ribbon wands, as the two newlyweds ran off to their getaway car, it began to pour. Talk about perfect timing!

purple bridesmaid dresses

Playing up the purple theme the bridesmaid dresses are in a light mauve. I am not sure exactly who the maker is but, Dessy makes a similar wrap around dress for your bridesmaid that seems to come in every color. These are such a lovely pick for your bridesmaid, they seem to flatter more than one figure and can be worn a multitude of ways.

purple wedding favors

I designed a wedding once that used different areas of NYC for their wedding tables as opposed to table numbers, it looks like Syliva and Dongmin did the same for their special day, except using cities in California. See examples of the NYC table numbers here.
