A Costa Rica wedding with luxury hanging installations that got “lit”

After getting engaged in 2023 Rachael and Jason wanted a wedding that was simple, fun, and included a lot of music. Jenifer Hernandez Weddings & Events helped the couple plan an event that captured just that! The day turned out to be a timelessly romantic event where every single detail was thought out, and there were unique, personalized elements at every turn. Javier Mendez Photography and DW Stories were there to capture everything on camera for this special day hosted at Arenal Kioro Suites & Spa. A cape and a custom liner

The couple began their customizations with their attire. The bride donned a ballgown that featured a gorgeous cape. She carried the perfect tropical bouquet that included orchids and Birds of Paradise, which were also featured as part of her hairstyle (next to delicate rhinestones!). The groom opted for a marron suit that had a custom interior liner.

For the ceremony, the couple's friends performed as part of the event. The ceremony hosted an intimate crowd of the couple's closest family and friends. Floral design featured large tropical blooms lining the aisle and a large hanging installation with dripping pink and white tropical flowers.

A different musician for every moment

Guests were greeted at the reception with a colorful, tropical welcome sign and the sound of music floating through the air. Throughout the course of the day and evening, there were four different musicians: a harpist playing their favorite songs; a violinist at cocktail hour; and a guitar and cello duo to end the night.

A tropical-inspired reception blueprint

The reception was an absolute blueprint for how to create tropical luxury. Colorful arrangements in copper bases sat under a hanging installation of fronds with lightbulbs woven throughout. Menus followed the same printing and font as the welcome sign to create a cohesive design.

Rachael and Jason incorporated their beloved cats through their playful cocktail hour napkins printed with the phrase "Purr Me Another" and their wedding date.

Dessert included a colorful and texted cake decorated with tropical greenery and colorful blooms. Surrounding the cake by Cakes & Co. were additional bite-sized dessert options including bites of churro and banana pudding shooters.
