We are the Aerialist Press and we love all things ink, paper and printed. Affordable letterpress wedding invitations and stationery are what we do and what we love. We are located in the San Francisco Bay Area, in the small artisan community of Emeryville, and provide affordable letterpress to engaged couples globally. We cater to the discerning bride and paper lover who is not satisfied with the average or the ordinary. Our style runs the gamut from sweet and lovely to bold and striking. We are inspired by couture fashion, vintage finds, well-made paper, first editions, the San Francisco bay area lifestyle, great Neruda poetry, 20s, 30s, and 40s architecture and natural floral landscapes. Offering a wide array of letterpress-worthy design options coupled with exquisite paper and a commitment to crafting eco-friendly invitation suites is our focus. We think our clients should want it all and have it all, so in addition to our standard Letterpress House Suites, we also offer Couture Designs, custom orders tailored to your letterpress style and vision because we believe your suite should be uniquely yours, just like your wedding. Working with The Aerialist Press was a breath of fresh air. After exploring my ideas with another invitation designer, I left feeling like there was no way I’d find a letterpress designer that I could both afford and who would design something that represented my vision. I had resigned myself to just getting some generic but pleasant digitally printed invitations, despite not being wild about any of the designs I saw. Of course I longed for letterpress, but I knew it was well out of my budget. My jaw hit the floor when I saw Aerialists’ prices!! I kept waiting for some “convenience charge” or extra expense to bubble up when I first started talking with Alexandra, but it never did. What she quoted Day 1 was what I paid.
Either way, Alexandra would have been WORTH it! I live in Atlanta, GA, so our entire exchange was over email. I sent her a picture of an extremely expensive letterpress invitation that I had seen online and liked, and within two weeks she sent back FOUR different designs using similar elements. We bounced drafts back and forth about 6-7 times, each time changing and tweaking, and Alexandra was sweet, encouraging, and FAST on the turnaround each time. I’d get the changes within 48 hours, often only 24.
Alexandra made absolutely sure I was thrilled with my design before printing (and I didn’t pay a dime upfront, only at print time). She even used a special ink color that wasn’t listed on her website in order to achieve the feel I wanted. They truly understand that not everyone has $5k to blow on invitations, but will give you the customer service and quality of work as if you did.

You cannot do better in terms of design, quality, customer service and price than with Alex of The Aerialist Press. I am the Mother of a very detail-oriented Bride who was extremely specific and particular about what she wanted. I originally told her that we could not afford letterpress, but then my determined Bride found The Aerialist Press and we were off and running with custom invitations in a fairly tight timeframe. Alex assimilated several inspiration photos with lots of attached information from the Bride into a vintage invitation suite including a very complex map of Forest Park in St. Louis which made this Bride very happy and brought huge compliments from those who received them. And it was all done in the nicest and most fun manner!
The invitation suite came so well packaged and arrived in perfect shape. Because it was so extraordinary, I had the invitation suite framed and gave it to my daughter as a bridal shower gift. She was thrilled!
Now, I am getting my own letterpress note cards designed by Alex. Mine will not be vintage in style like my daughter’s, but more classic with a bit of a contemporary feel. Alex can do it all well! If I am ever in the San Francisco area, I would love to meet Alex and see her shop, mostly so I could thank her in person for her amazing work and her sweet and patient disposition.
