We’re sisters and best friends Ally Plummer and Amanda Buccola, and we have been baking together for as long as we can remember. The name RedRaspberry was inspired by The Red Raspberries, our dad’s cruise ship band from the 70s. The band’s name was inspired by their manager’s cup of yogurt in their New York apartment. Who knew the name would come in so handy to us all these years later!
Ally’s passion for decorating cakes started in college, and continued to grow after getting married in 2006. Amanda is three years younger and tends to do everything three years later, so she got married in 2009. She worked as a graphic designer in Dallas until we decided to turn our side business of selling cakes into a full time career. Our growing families are part of the reason we started RedRaspberry, it’s such a blessing to be at home doing what we love.
Working with RedRaspberry cakes was one of the absolute best decisions I made during my whole wedding planning experience! If their beautiful, creative and delicious cakes weren't enough to persuade me that they were the ladies for my wedding cake, their sweet personalities and chalkboard cake tasting tray are what really convinced me. One of the things I really loved about Amanda and Ally was the fact that they were so easy to work with. They understood what type of look I was going for with my wedding cake, and were able to make it even more beautiful then I could ever imagine! My overall experience was superb! Ally and Amanda were professional throughout the whole process. I just showed Ally and Amanda what I wanted for the wedding cake and they created it beautifully. For the Groom's cake, I just told them something UT Longhorn and chocolate and I almost liked it better than the actual wedding cake! I was at a wedding where everyone was raving about the cakes, so I had to find out where they were from so I could get the same cakes for my own upcoming wedding! I found out it was RedRaspberry, so I made an appointment right away. I just brought pictures of cakes that I liked, and they combined all of the 'looks' perfectly into my dream cake.
