Marlon is an avid film photographer who prefers this format for weddings and lifestyle photography. He believes film provides a greater range of tone and detail which is a key component to his distinctly original look.
He has a background that ranges from graphic design and typography to journalism and commercial photography. When not photographing weddings or managing Marlon Richardson Photography, you’ll find him taking a breather with his wife Naomi and good friends or escaping on an unplanned trip to a new city.

In 2004, Marlon began shooting weddings after being asked by a close friend to cover their wedding. He instantly fell in love with the process an the idea of being intimately involved in such a significant event. Coming from a design and commercial advertising background he always tries to develop new techniques while creating lasting visually impacting impressions.
In March of 2009, my husband and I had the pleasure of working with Marlon as our engagement and wedding photographer. Marlon’s attention to detail, style and ability to capture the moment was exactly what we wanted. He was flexible and allowed for as much time as needed to get the best shots. Marlon was able to match our desired style of edgy and non-traditional.
In addition, Marlon’s quick turnaround time as his willingness to pictures as requested in the format requested has made the experience that much more enjoyable.

From the very beginning of my wedding journey during our engagement shoot, your talent was evidenced in your skill for putting us as ease and giving directions, which helped us relax and capture my all time favorite picture of us by the US Capitol. Everyone who has seen it says it looks like a scene out of a movie! I think that you have a great eye for capturing great scenery and making the romance come alive in your portrait sessions.
I was very impressed with the amount of pictures that you captured. From the rehearsal dinner to the additional pictures from your assistant – – we have a lot of pictures!
