Romantic Outdoorsy Engagement Session

These two lovebirds are avid fishermen and love spending time outdoors on their historic Texas ranch, especially the lake where they had one of their first dates. When it came to their engagement photos, Sarah and Andrew wanted the pictures to reflect the love they have for one another as well as the love they share for the outdoors — and their lake made for the perfect location!
Their engagement session was more like a romantic date (with a few paparazzi) which began with the couple canoeing and fishing, followed by a picnic dinner and then ended with a breathtaking sunset. Don't miss any of Luke and Cat Photography's amazing photos from this romantic outdoorsy engagement session by viewing the full gallery here.

From Luke and Cat Photography:The first part of the evening, the couple went fishing on their lake. After catching their fish, they then cooked it on an open fire. They dined together at an outdoorsy-styled picnic table in the Texas evening shade. After dinner, the couple cooked s'mores over the campfire, and finally at sunset, read love letters to each other sitting on the bank of the lake. This was by far one of the most beautiful, unique engagement sessions ever seen or heard of.

From the Bride-To-Be on their Inspiration:The inspiration/idea behind the engagement session was the love that my fiancé and I have for the outdoors, along with fishing, roasting smokes, and of course eating what we catch on nice evenings. There is not one thing I would have changed about that particular afternoon. Everything was so perfect and I do not think it could have been any better. To top it off, one of our first outings on the ranch consisted of us fishing together in the green canoe that was used in the photos.

From the Bride-To-Be on their Wedding Plans:Our wedding is October 12, 2013. Yes, the engagement session does both reflect and influence our wedding. The session reflects our wedding based on my fiancé's cake table which will signify his love for waterfowl hunting done outdoors. Also, our registration table will use fishing net as decor, along with our fishing poles and lures. As an influence, these gorgeous pictures will be displayed on a table for all of our guest to view. Along with, throughout our cocktail hour, a slideshow will be shown telling the story of our proposal and engagement session done on a large screen for our guests to view.

Favorite Moments From the Bride-To-Be:Every part of the engagement session was a beautiful memory that I will cherish forever, however, my favorite part was reading our love letters at the end of the session, that we had written prior to, to each other. I wrote about our relationship up until that point and my fiancé wrote about what he looked forward to after marriage. That particular moment captured my heart and allowed us to express our love to each other in new ways.
