From Jocelyn The Bride:
Here is a quick overview on some of the projects we did together and the special offerings at our wedding:
Monogrammed Parasol – Hand painted by the bride, drawn out by the groom. Parasol ordered from OrientalTradingExpress.com
Brooch on the bride’s bouquet - in memory of her Great grandmother who passed away earlier in 2011. Just happened to be the same as our wedding colors!
Hanging mason jars – Mason jars thrifted from Goodwill. The groom handmade each wire hanger for each jar. The bride thrifted the vintage lace and handmade each mason jar cover with lace, then wrapped around and tied with twine.
Flower Girl Wagon - A vintage wagon and family heirloom from Russia. Hand decorated by the bride.
Flower Girl Tutu - DIY project for bride and Grooms grandmother.
Wood engraved Ring box - ”Brooks loves Jocelyn” and heart shaped ring box with bride’s initials, both handmade by the groom from fresh cut trees.
Wine Bottle GuestBook - Used 5 wine bottles from important dates in our relationship (our engagement, first bottle of wine together, birthdays, etc.). Cleaned them out and made personalized labels to match the wedding decor. Each label represented a future anniversary year (1 year, 5year, 10year, 25 years, 35 years) and had a wine quote on it. Each guest wrote a note or wish and dropped it in the year of their choice. We will open each bottle on that labeled year to read notes from our guests at the wedding to celebrate our anniversaries.
Vintage soda crates – Family heirlooms
All jars/vases/succulent jars - Thrifted from various antiques and thrift stores
Dancing shoes Basket - Basket of flips flops for the “dancing queens”. Handmade frame and sign by the bride.
Horseshoe Soap favors - Purchased from Etsy;
Vintage LoveBird Caketopper - Etsy.com
“I do” and “just married” sign – Etsy.com
Brides hair piece – Etsy.com
Brides dress – Sottero and Midgley
Brides Shoes – Pour la Victoire
Bridesmaid dresses – Alfred Angelo
Venue – Dana Powers Barn, Nipomo CA
Flowers – DIY with help from family.
More information on the wedding:
Jocelyn & Brooks were married at the beautiful Dana Powers House and Barn in Nipomo, CA. We took advantage of the tree swing, blue truck, and the bridal suite to get some amazing pictures. Adam met up with the guys in the barn to snap some pictures of them hanging out, as well as Brooks with his son. The wedding was picture perfect and had some amazing details throughout including center pieces that she found at thrift stores, rented from the venue, and collected from family members. On her flower bouquet she put a brooch from her grandmother. Her family friend did all the floral arrangements and did an awesome job. They had a band playing during the ceremony and cocktail hour, then a DJ during the reception. Also during cocktail hour they had a signature drink called the “John Wayne” for guests to drink. Her hand painted “M” parasol that she brought to their engagement session made an appearance at the wedding. Brooks made a wooden ring box, with their initials, for his son (whose 4 years old) to hold the rings in and bring down the aisle with him. A matching wooden sign with their name on it was on the favor table inside the barn. Jocelyn calls her wedding rustic elegance, and hints of gray, blush pinks, powder blue, and white could be found all around their wedding.
