Being native New Englander’s, autumn is our favorite time of year. By the end of August, we’re looking forward to the crisp air and crunching leaves October brings. We were particularly inspired for this shoot as we really wanted to capture the beauty of fall in New England. Photo shoots like these allow us to run wild with creativity and to bring to life a vision that may be slightly out of the box and impractical (who needs to see their guests through the tablescape anyway).
Staying true to our aesthetic, we wanted to create something a little over-the-top that was slightly whimsical and a touch eclectic. We’re big on color and texture. Rich colors and a variety of textures come together on the tables before you. We love the juxtaposition of the soft orchids next to the driftwood on the farmer’s table and the birch candles and pintuck linen on another.
Our setting was a local sheep pasture, maintained by the Natural Resources Trust in North Easton, Massachusetts. It was the perfect location for the look and feel we were striving to obtain. Wild turkeys roam the paths and an animal sanctuary – complete with rare chickens and miniature ponies were on site to entertain us all!
Our design for this shoot came from an inspiration board that we put together in the months leading up to our shoot. As always, it was amazingly gratifying to watch it take shape and come to life.
