As you may know from our Little Twist Dress collection by Dessy, we love a twist wrap dress. Even though it's not one of ours, Claire's elegant Shareen wedding dress is to die for! So in love!

We decided to get married in Winthrop after a road trip brought us up the Methow Valley in 2010. We knew that we wanted to get married there since it truly felt like the old west, and I'm not talking about the board walk and the miners museum. The warm light made it feel like the west, the rolling hills and big sky.
We wanted long days, and of course a dry, outdoor wedding. We wanted to take our guests to a special place, that they wouldn't have otherwise experienced if it wasn't for our wedding. We knew it had to be outdoors with a lot of open space. Spring Creek Ranch was perfect for just that. Large manicured lawn surrounded by alfalfa fields made it feel like our own farm. We also made a lot of the decorations ourselves.

We wanted our wedding to feel simple, but timeless and elegant. These are the same reasons we chose Ryan Flynn Photography as our wedding photographer. His photos have a classic and vintage feel without trying too hard. We wanted someone that used different mediums - film and digital. Ultimately we wanted our wedding pictures to look just as good 30 years from now, and not look 'dated' by trendy photography methods.

Check out this couples stellar idea for letting their guests know where to find nibbles and nosh! Giant light up signs are a must, and they also provide a fun way to light your reception after dark. We approve!

I wouldn't really do much differently, we got really lucky. We didn't taste our food or hear our band before the wedding day and they both worked out great! I guess the one thing I would change would be to prepare to spend at least 30% more than you think you are going to spend. That might not be the case for everyone, but it definitely was for us. Our 'budget' was to do everything as cheaply as possibly (for the most part, we splurged on a few items like photography) and we still spent a lot more than we had planned.
