We are suckers for anything hand made. There is something incredibly special about weddings with beautiful details that are put together with a little bit of inspiration and a whole lot of love.  So, when Katie Lewis Photography, Inc. and some talented Fargo, North Dakota wedding vendors gathered together to show brides and grooms how to make their barn yard wedding extra special we jumped on it. Most everything you see here was put together by Katie.

Katie did an over the top job arranging the adorable flowers in vintage mason jars which is always a crowd pleaser. She called on her Grandmother to whip up some homemade pies (apple, cherry & lemon meringue) and the individual pies-in-a-jar (strawberry) were all made with love by her Granny. Thanks to her mom for providing the silverware and china. Just a great example that you can get a little help from your friends and family to pull off something incredible.

We have a huge crush on Joy Harmon Prouty of Wildflowers Photography and we are over the moon to share her next wedding with you. If you recall, we actually featured Rochelle and Bobby’s darling engagement shoot.  Inspired By Their Love Of Children was the theme of the engagement shoot which naturally carried on to their wedding decor and was actually styled by Wildflowers Photography as well. Talk about a jack of all trades.

Rochelle and Bobby wanted their wedding to be fun, creative, personal, handmade, inexpensive and a theme based upon all things childlike. They also firmly believed that it should be a day celebrating their love for God and their childlike joy in waiting on His timing in bringing the two of them together.

We just wanted to throw out a special shout out to one of our favorite preferred vendors Paloma’s Nest! Introducing the Vintage Velvet Flower Ring Bearer Bowl™! A very limited edition bowl that is adorned by a vintage velvet flower.  Oh boy, is it precious. Since the supplies are limited, only 12 or 14 pieces will be made,  so if you love this make a special trip to her shop.

Are you in the market for a hip and happening wedding venue? Look no further than the Ace Hotel & Swim Club in Palm Springs, CA. A 180 room hotel, spa & resort, complete with suites. It’s on the grounds of a renovated mid-century modern motel, and within walking distance to downtown. One of the best features of the hotel is that the rates are cheap for Palm Springs hotels, motels, inns, and rental properties, even if you book at the last minute. It’s like knowing a little secret. So, you can rest assured that all of your guests can afford to bunk up at this hip and happening hotel.

Of course thanks to the incredibly fabulous Lane Dittoe for taking the time out of his busy schedule to shoot the property for us.

The master suite is ideal for a wedding party and for the wedding couple to spend their first night at Mr. & Mrs.; it has a over sized bathroom perfect for getting ready and hanging out with the ladies. There are some super fabulous features to this suite including a private patio (235 – 265 SF) with lounge area, a fire pit, vinyl record players, and unique vintage furniture. You can also bring scruffy (your dog) along as The Ace Hotel is pet friendly.

The King’s Highway dinner is the bones of an old roadside diner, it is an interpretation of American peasant food for the desert with a focus on fresh, organic, and local ingredients. We highly recommend the jicama salad, Cotija corn off the cob, hanger steak salad, and the super yummy iced lattes made by an Italian cutie if you are lucky. Complete with an the old ranch-hand bar. The locals called it the Amigo Room, so the name stuck. Cheap beer and fresh, clean cocktails with homemade ingredients, and it’s all available poolside.

There is a special place on the property especially for you wedding or pretty much anything else you can think of. We are so excited to share Michelle and Troy’s Washington country style wedding with you! There are so many special details to this day, and Melissa Tomeoni of Soul Mates Photo was so kind to share with us.

There are so many fun facts about their special day, read on to hear all about them.  First, Michelle’s dad artfully created her alter by hand. After the ceremony and the fun began, Michelle toasted her new husband with a shot of Jack. Can you imagine Michelle and her sister speeding around the dance floor to the electric slide? Super cute for sure! I’m not sure which of these elements make my skin tingle and my heart smile but all of them have a dash of country and a whole lot of fun.

The bridesmaids were adorned in cowboy boots, crochet dresses and bouquets complete with wheat. The bride not only boasted her engagement ring but a promise ring made to resemble a horses bit. The guys looked ruggedly handsome in their cowboy boots, hats and belt buckles and while drinking from canning jars. Over the top, just how we like it.

Michelle and Troy married at the Wine & Roses Country Estate the perfect setting for a country style wedding. As guests arrived they perched on hay bales and the isle runner was made of canvas. Michelle’s dad drove her to the aisle in his classic pickup and she left in her new husband’s raised truck. A perfect exit for a backyard country wedding.
