Joan has launched a unique bridal collection that unites her passion for art, costume, and fashion into a line of elegant gowns. Each hand-made ensemble accentuates the bride’s figure and distinctive style. Combining a timeless era with contemporary influence, these classic gowns are as unforgettable as the wedding day. Beleive it or not you can buy her dresses on Etsy.

Her vintage inspired gowns start at $3,500 and go up to 6, 5000. Each one is hand made to fit you perfectly.
The look is so unqiue and allot her gowns are accompanied by a vintage brooch.

Some of her gowns can be a two or three piece ensembles, all separate.  Ideally you can run with entirely different looks throughout the event. I love the dramatic tulle in the above dress. So glamorous.

There are lots of wedding websites out there, some cost quite a bit, some not so much, some free. A few are more complicated then most. We ended up going with mywedding.com. They have tons of templates for every theme, each template in various colors. It is also extremely user friendly and includes several pages that you can customize in a way that you choose. It also is completely free! You can check out our site at http://www.mywedding.com/heatherandgeorge. Make sure to sign the guestbook on your way out!

I hope that everyone had a nice holiday, I personally enjoyed the down time. I did, however, manage to get a couple of wedding related things done. The first being our save the dates.

I don’t think that save the dates are a necessity for everyone, it seems to be something else added on to the rising cost of weddings. Anyhow, being that 75% of our guests are from out of town, we plan on sending them out, but neither of us wanted to spend a lot of money on them.

We ended up going with vistaprint, they have a special going on right now for 100 free postcards, you can get standard size or oversized, depending on what you are looking for. They also have tons of templates that would do nicely for a wedding.

We ended up choosing these: all for the price of shipping only, a whopping $6.49!!!!! Hopefully, they won’t be terrible, but for a few bucks it was worth a shot!

After the busyness of the wedding celebration, the honeymoon offers a much-needed alone time. It’s the perfect excuse to buy some cute new things for your fabulous romantic getaway. A floor length maxi dress by LA Made is perfect for walking down to the beach or cocktails and dinner.

Chunky jewelry is always a fabulous way to dress up any simple dress. We found this one at HSN {believe it or not}!
A straw bag is perfect for all your sunbathing goodies and can double as a purse. The one above is by Dior! A bit pricey but… dang cute.

Work these fabulous toe ring sandals by Juicy. Of course, an absolute must is a stylish bikini to show off your wedding ready body. The suit and necklaces are from Vivre. The seashell hair clips are from Etsy and are perfect for a messy beach hairstyle.

Secreto is an oasis of casual, but chic hotel luxury within the small Mexican fishing village of Isla Mujeres. It is one hour door-to-door from Cancun, Mexico. With crystal-clear turquoises waters, white sand beaches, and almost perfect year-round weather, the island is a haven for beach and water sports enthusiasts.

Take a trip to Isla Contoy, a bird sanctuary located 45 minutes via boat north of Isla Mujeres, or visit some of Mexico´s most famous archeological Mayan ruins: Chichen Itza, Coba and Tulum.

You will love Hotel Secreto’s privacy and excellent service. With its striking contemporary architecture and Mediterranean sensuality, Secreto is the perfect setting for a blissful honeymoon on on the beach.

As most of you know we are huge fans of Chenin Boutwell and today we are featuring a simple yet stylish affair shot by Chenin and held at the Marvimon House in Los Angeles, California. More than likely you will be hearing more inside tips on this venue… one of our Real Bridal Bloggers, Jessica will be getting married here.
We wanted to give her a little inspiration for her big day!

The Real Wedding of Jen + Patrick.

Originally built by an Italian race care driver in 1924 as one LA’s first automobile show rooms, Marvimon has reinvented itself as a stand alone, super-loft. A 7,000 sqft floor plan including a vertical garden courtyard. Located near Chinatown, surrounded by Elysian and State Historic Parks this centrally located building is also Green. Their strategically located oversized courtyard doors and skylights are passive lighting, cooling and heating elements that minimize energy usage throughout the year.

A few photos of the venue to give you an idea of this lovely space.

More phenomenal photos of Jen + Patrick taken by Chenin. I am in absolute love with Jen’s dress, which looks like a family heirloom. A delicate peacock hairpiece ties together her whole look.
