We are huge fans of Sprouted Kitchen! Sarah, author and chef, has some of the most amazing recipes and the most beautiful imagery. Photographed by Hugh Forte, the photos are some of the best we’ve seen on a culinary blog. This Chocolate Peppermint Molten Cake is calling our names! Be sure to visit Sprouted Kitchen for the complete recipe, but don’t be surprised if you spend some time there looking at all of the mouthwatering ideas that Sarah shares with her readers.

Stay tuned for a very special DIY that we created with Sarah’s recipes as our inspiration! You are not going to want to miss it! The little gem coming up was all done here at the WC headquarters, executed and photographed by yours truly (though I wish Hugh would have been available).

Holiday Decor

Hopefully you are not stopping by at lunch. If you are you are going to have a craving for something sweet. Lollipop Designs shared with us how they styled Christmas for C St. Studio Holiday Party. They also shared with us how to make some of these sinfully sweet treats.

To start it off here is how to make the above Frosty’s Frosted Cookie Sandwiches (or red velvet cookies with white frosting!) with red frosting and sandwich with another cookie to create a yummy red and white sugar cookie sandwich. Visit Bakeralla to learn how by visiting here.

Lollipop Designs is on the tippy top of my list  of favorite event designers. If I where having a wedding or a tea party or whatever I would be like girls get over here and whip me up something fancy. PS they also have a pretty fantastic blog! Yep… they are all around down right fabulous. Do you love the picture of them above? So cute! Enjoy and get ready to crave something sugary sweet.

holiday cookies

Tissue Poms:
To create a snowball filled backdrop make these tissue poms poms out of gold flecked tissue that you can find in the holiday wrapping paper aisle. Of course visit Martha Stewart to on how to create these.

Holiday Desert Table

From The Lollipop Girls:

This white winter wonderland dessert table brings the season to life in the most sinfully sweet way. Like a sugar coated forest, this magical dessert table features such delicious delights as red velvet candy cane cakesicles sprinkled with peppermint, fluffy red velvet cake sandwiches and piles of fluffy white snowballs. Tree shaped towers of powdered donuts invited guests to nibble their way through the eye candy, which glittered with soft candlelight. Button covered yarnballs clustered in piles like snowballs while puffy light gold flecked tissue balls created a soft snowfalling backdrop for the winter wonderland tablescape. Lined with a marshmallows tree forest and smiley snowmen, there was plenty of frosting to go around, sure to make Frosty the Snowman proud. Feathery white flower tops and baby’s breath were used to create a delicate floral Christmas tree while milk glass vases also topped with baby’s breath were scattered through out the birch filled forest.

Christmas Deserts

Santa’s Snowballs:
Bake cupcakes in jumbo sized cupcake tins then cover with frosting all over and roll in shaved coconut for a snowy sweet snack.

Red Velvet Cakesicles:
Make your own cakesicles with these super fun delectable treats! We used candy canes as the sticks and sprinkled them with peppermint toppings. We used red velvet to keep in line with the holiday palette. Visit Bakerella to learn how to makes these by clicking here.

Amy recently went to a party at  Arroyo Trabuco . We will be sharing more details from this lavish party next week. One of the guests,  Diana Phillips of Artisan Chocolates showcased her tasty treats, and we had to share. How scrumptious do these chocolates look? Amy said that they where incredible. The packaging of these beauties is simply to die for. The bright colors are so cheerful and inviting. I would love to sit down at a wedding and find this splendid treat waiting for me.

Diana’s kitchen is a studio, a chamber of alchemy and scientific exploration, a garden of aromas, tastes and textures. Is your mouth watering yet? All of the chocolates can can be customized to fit any detail, including creating original molds. She will even create a unique flavor for your wedding day. You can buy her chocolates online by visiting here. Stay tuned next week for more party pictures.

According to New York Locals William Greenberg has the best black and white cookies. Our friends over at Artfool, share “the cookie like base has the perfect amount of cake texture and the frosting is to die for!” Lucky enough for us they ship and currently can dip custom colors. You are able to choose the top and bottom color. Wrap indivdually… place a little sticker on the front and pass out to guests to enjoy. $45 for a dozen cookies but apparently they are super duper yummy!

A long time fan of Cannelle-Vanille we thought we would share a lovely recipe from her delicious data bank of yummy goodies. A Fig, Berry and Sheep’s Milk Cream Tart. This would be a sweet treat to end a homemade Valentines Dinner for your honey or go perfectly on your dessert table at your up and coming nuptials.

Check out the recipe here along with a  ton of other delectable delights.
