Florals & Event Design

The stars were well aligned when this talented group of Santa Barbara wedding vendors got together to produce a Countryside Bohemian wedding.  This photo shoot exemplifies a bride on her wedding day with an effective balance of design, spirituality and touches of personalization.

Thanks to Lazaro Press & Design for sharing this stunning event with us and a special thank you to Kristen Beinke Photography for effortlessly capturing these  Bohemian wedding Ideas.

Coquelicot Vineyard was the perfect location for portraying the elements associated with wine country.  The vivacious jewel toned colors soften the hardness of the sun and dirt roads leading up to the barn.  The soft and playful hilltop of horses, the oasis of a lush tree encompassing the alter-like ceremony site and the Old Country backdrop of the sweetheart table all hint at the story of a girl who traveled a long way to arrive at her gypsy-like wedding.

One of our Canadian wedding photographers, Tara Whittaker Photography sent us ideas for a backyard wedding. Not only do all of her wedding ideas ooze with simplicity and country charm but, they are easy to accomplish on your own with a little help of some friends.

In lieu of traditional napkins, Tara collected vintage handkerchiefs. They chose handkerchiefs that were embroidered, so they also added color and charm to the table. They can also easily double as a sweet wedding favor to remember the day.

If Lilacs happen to be in season when you are planning your wedding, here is a great tutorial that Tara used in order to make all these lovely Lilac wedding arrangements. To add that vintage element you can simply find a vintage hankie to tie around your wedding bouquet. Very easy but, simply elegant.

The Colorful pinwheels are made out of coordinating sheets of origami or lightweight paper. This easy DIY happens to be one of Martha Stewart’s Good things DIY projects. You can visit this pinwheel tutorial by clicking here.

Another great way to cut back on costs is to opt to have a table filled with homemade pies in lieu of the traditional wedding cake. Ask friends and family to bake their favorite pie and bring it to the wedding. Provide some creamy vanilla ice cream and you are sure to have some satisfied guests.

Absolutely love the idea of having several tables around the area with cool refreshing beverages. This way guest do not congregate to one area for drinks. Find an old table and place a doilie over the table to spruce it up. Etsy has a ton of doilies at great prices.

Instead of just having guests mingle, why not set up some fun backyard games. We love the idea of a classic game of horseshoes or a lovely game of croquet. This is also a great option for your bridal shower.

Love Spun Events collaborated with some of Atlanta’s finest wedding vendors to bring you this innovative and breath taking set up. Of course the florals that are beyond gorgeous are thanks to The Savage Garden.

The last wedding I attended as a guest, was just beautiful. It was very touching and went along seamlessly. In fact, everything was flawlessly thought out, except for one little detail: the reception tables were bare. And believe me, trying to maintain a conversation with a table of strangers during an hour-long dinner would have been a lot easier with something to talk about!

That was the inspiration of our table: to create a visual discovery – and a thought-provoking conversation starter.  To achieve this, I wanted to incorporate two of my favorite wedding décor trends: whimsical and rustic. Both trends are so eye-catching to begin with but we wanted to harness the two together to create something really magical. To start, we used a beautiful, weathered plank of wood as the table runner. We kept the linens neutral to highlight the unique elements on the table and the intricate, slate gray plates from Anthropologie  added a welcome pop of color.

Sarah from Foglio Press created gorgeous invitations and menus that fit our vision perfectly, giving the table a touch of opulence. Then, to add texture, we created DIY plate décor by binding wild bird feathers and twigs together with mesh ribbon. And for fun, we placed her precious place settings on top of Spanish moss and lichen-filled sherbet cups.

For the floral elements, I enlisted my dear friend Danny Wilson of The Savage Garden. His work is always innovative and breathtaking and this was no exception. Each element he incorporated; a bird’s nest filled with grapes, purple cabbage nestled between twisting branches, weathered pots filled with exotic flowers – even a pin cushion in the shape of an antique doll – is sure to engage the senses and spark conversation

On the dessert menu: mouth-watering miniature pies made by Taria at Highland Bakery. (And they were the perfect reward post-shoot!!) We incorporated an antique drawer and over sized spools to showcase the pies in an unexpected way and a small bunch of deep red peonies and candles lended romantic flair to the display.

I love to mix and match chairs to give tables a unique look, so I knew I wanted to do something extra special for the seating elements. The refinished church pew mixed with unique chairs was the finishing touch to our whimsical and rustic vision.

Are you looking for some bridal shower decor inspiration? Well here are some lovely bridal shower ideas from Nico Designs that we think you will enjoy. Sweet yet sophisticated and beyond doable. Jessica Lewis Photography captured this inspiring event.

Soft pinks and strawberries, how can one go wrong?

Wrap it up pretty! We love the idea of giving your guests a beautifully wrapped package. Nico made it especially unique by topping off each package with a vintage brooch. It adds that extra bit of customization to the look and feel of the table decor.

We love the idea of incorporated living things into your wedding. Seeds of Life has some incredible wedding favors that are earth-friendly and quite stylish. Be sure to pick appropriate plants that are going to thrive in your particular climate. If you have out of town guests possibly have an alternate eco-friendly wedding favor for them. Seed packets make a good alternative for those guests.

Plant a Memory also offers live trees and seedling packs for wedding favors. The below is $2.69 and might be a more affordable alternative.
