Engagement Sessions

1940's retro shoot

Kelly Hornberger shared with us Shannon and Brian’s Texas engagement shoot. who met way back in their high school years. Shannon totally had her eye on Brian and hook, line and snagged her man. Now they are in college and planning their wedding. Which, will be at a retro movie theater in Downtown Houston in the summer, bringing their entire theme together!

Here is how they made the shoot happen:

Location: They accidentally took pics in front of a prison metal garage door, which they got in trouble for. But, obviously  the big metal gray door was just way too “Al Capone” to pass up. They actually stumbled upon a broken down vintage Jaguar and used it to pose with. Her ring has a sapphire in the center, because it is her favorite stone.

Wardrobe: Shannon wore sweet and lovely dresses,  courtesy of Anthropologie, vintage gloves and a cute hat. Brian wore a  a basic suit, striped tie and black fedora from Target. Because they love them some Frank Sinatra.

Props: The bird statuette will be their cake topper on the wedding day. The colors of the balloons symbolic of their upcoming wedding colors.

Sean Flanigan Photography shared with us this unique styled Seattle wedding engagement session for his Workshop. Definitely representing the couple’s unique combination of style. Along with Sean’s creative spin on photography.

Sometimes you do not need a lot of extras to  make your engagement shoot great. You just want to make sure that your photos reflect truly who you are as a couple. But, I am standing my ground, you must have a cute outfit or at least something that you feel comfortable in. Take the time to get your hair and makeup done. Your will not only feel confident but, it will come across in your photos.

We love Julie’s outfit, super cute and fully represents her personality. We actually know Julie, she attended our Stylelab workshop and it getting married later this year. We cannot wait to see her photos.

jessica claire photography engagement

We wanted to end the day with our continuation of our shabby chick bridal shower shot by Jessica Claire Photography.

Carter and Cook Event Co. wanted to transform the brunch bridal shower into an engagement shoot. This is ideal for a bride-to-be-homemaker, and a groom who loves her baked goodies!

Cute as a Button became the theme for the shoot. Erica incorporated more of our colors in adorable sugar cookie button shaped cookies. The bride wore a tangerine polka dot dress from Anthropologie, and wore her adorable hair piece from Ink and Button. The bouquet was designed using acacia and tied with button garland.

We created a cozy atmosphere with blankets, pillows, chairs and boxes in the beautiful hills. We also used baking supplies, cookies, oven mittens, and cook books to tell the story of a cute couple, and homemaker to be!

Disneyland engagement shoot

Growing up in Orange County you tend to take for granted living near Disneyland. Well, at least I did! Now that I am far far away from the magical kingdom I can not wait to go back.

There definitely is something whimsical and lovely about Disneyland. It represents all things good. Wish Wonder Dreams Bridal Consultants shared with us Carla and Chris’s engagement session. It tied in perfectly with our styled shoot that we are featuring later today. We wanted to share Carla and Chris’s Disneyland wedding Engagement with you.

Carla and Chris are both HUGE Disney fans. They have been annual pass holders for many years and Chris popped the question there on their 13th anniversary. They’ve been together since Jr. High school. Now that is one love story with extra fairy dust sprinkled all around it. These magical photos were taken by San Fransisco Wedding photographers Paco and Betty

50's style engagement shoot

Callie and Tyler sent us their retro inspired engagement shoot! We love when brides share with us. Hint hint!

Coming up with a style for engagement shoot may be a bit daunting. Luckily their are a ton wonderful ideas out there. We adore the idea of going to your favorite hang out and using it as a prop. Callie and Tyler choose to go to a charming retro diner and dressed the part to make their retro engagement shoot come to life.

What They Used To Make The Shoot Happen:

Location: 1950’s Diner

Wardrobe: Callie wore skinny jeans paired with a white tee and an adorable cropped silky jacket. Paired with red high heeled Mary Janes and perfect little headband. Her look and feel reminds me of  1978 classic, Grease with Olivia Newton John and John Travolta.

Tyler wore jeans paired with a white tee and a leather jacket. The cherry on top was his, Flat Cap.

Props: Vintage coke bottle along with a gorgeous black muscle car. You can look into renting a vintage car to really make your shoot extra special.
