Pixel and Hank has some seriously adorable hair accessories. Not only are they super duper cute, but they are not going to empty your pocket book. Everything is handmade by Daisy in Kalamazoo, Michigan. One of our favorite pieces in the Pixel and Hank collection is The Norah. A sophisticated bloom with tones of dark ivory and cream with a touch of French net, Norah is the perfect accent to your wedding dress.

WellWed Magazine shared with us their latest photo shoot and we thought you might want to take a peek at it.

They were inspired by the military trend that has hit runways this year, as well as a few close family members who have had strong ties to the war. They wanted glam, pinup, World War II beauty, so they set their sights on a real aircraft carrier berthed all the way in Charleston, SC. It was packed with some great dress designers, including Melissa Sweet, Fancy NY, Claire Pettibone, Cymbeline, Amy Kuschel, and Vineyard Collection. They also feature dresses from J. Crew’s new bridal line, which of course we love.

The above dress is a mermaid silhouette by Melissa Sweet adorned with flower appliques and accompanied by a vintage sailor’s cap to evoke all the romance and excitement of adventures on the high sea. The classic peep-toe pump accented with dainty bows are by Flippa Scott. They are the perfect wedding shoes. Feminine and Fun.

The below hat by Lo Boheme is layered with dupioni silk, vintage veiling and velvet and accented with taffeta leaves, petals and flowers for a look that is sophisticated and glamorous. The dress is actually a tulle gown by J.Crew and proves that classic and demure never go out of style. The peep toes are by Flippa Scott.

I love the dress below! This dress was designed by Claire Pettibone with a silk ribbon that ties on the English lace bodice. So romantic and sweet… perfect for a backyard garden wedding.

The first dress is a sultry strapless cotton lace mermaid silhouette gown by Claire Pettibone. The organza and silk headpiece is by Boutique de Voile. Secondly we have an Amy Kuschel dress that keeps things short and sweet. Memorable details like the sweetheart neckline and flounced hemline make this lace dress a show stopper.

Below we have a delicately embroidered gown by Melissa Sweet with a punch of understated panache. Love the bow–reminds me of a present.

It is a tad small, but we have a satin faced organza strapless ball gown with a corset seamed bodice by Vineyard Collection. You can actually see a better view of the dress by clicking here. It is really quite lovely. You should definitely check it out. To see more wonderful wedding ideas and more amazing dresses visit WellWed Magazine.

Many of us dreamed of becoming a ballerina as little girls. Maybe it’s the thrill of wearing a tutu and performing on stage, or maybe just the love all things pretty. Elizabeth Burke is a ballerina and took her love of the dance and brought it to her bridal photographs. Captured by one of our favorite Memphis wedding photographers, Asian Bees Photography, the images speak for themselves and what a beautiful ballerina Elizabeth is. Taken at the Le Pavillion and Regis Lawson’s studio

Poppies & Posies teamed up with Jen Huang Photography to share a few fun tips and tricks when choosing your wedding hair accessories.

Hair flowers can be a really fun accessory for any occasion, but especially for your wedding! If you’re feeling crafty here are a few tips to make your own hair flowers…

First; if you’re planning on wearing your hair flowers outdoors try to choose a heartier flower that will stand up to the heat in summer months. Succulents, orchids, gloriosa, craspedia and some herbs such as rosemary and sage are all perfect options. If heat is not an issue try using peonies, dahlias, purple sage, or even mint!

Second; make sure to get all the necessary tools for your project. You’ll need small hair combs or barrettes, wire, floral tape is very useful and never underestimate a glue gun. A little dab here and there makes the construction much easier.

Lastly; get creative! There really is no wrong or right way to design your hair flowers.
