Will You Be My Bridesmaid?

Will You Be My Bridesmaid?

Brides keep coming up with new and clever ways to ask their besties to be in their wedding. Do you remember Bethany's Bridesmaid Boxes? (if you have not seen these you need to check them out.)
Inspired by Bethany's will you be my bridesmaid boxes, Kateryn put her own spin on asking her gal-pals them the oh-so important question. Will you Be My Bridesmaid? Kateryn, also a wedding photographer, shared with us exactly how she made these budget-friendly gifts for her friends. How do you plan to ask your wedding party? A hand-crafted treat, a special note or perhaps just an old-fashion phone call. Do share.

Will You Be My Bridesmaid?

From Kateryn:When I saw your post about Bethany's bridesmaid boxes I knew I had to do something awesome for my own girls to ask them the oh-so important question! I came up with a handmade paper packet where I included a personal letter to each of my girls explaining how much I love them and why I want them to have a special part in my wedding. I also included information about the wedding, about their dresses, and their "duties" (to list a few, 1. show me your best moves on the dance floor 2. smile for me all night, even when I'm crying (tears of joy of course!) 3. pose for a few pictures with me (well, who am I kidding, pose for a TON of pictures))

I wrote the letters and printed them out myself as two-page spreads (that part took some coordination, but I finally got it down!). To make the separate pages into a booklet, I simply folded each spread in half and stapled them together neatly down the middle/spine. Nothing fancy! Then I decorated the front and back covers with pretty scrapbook paper I had. I glued a light green square to the front, and then pulled it all together with the floral paper wrapping around from front to back, which ended up covering the staples so it looked nicer. To finish it off, I hot glued some pretty buttons to the front and back, then hot glued some twine to the back button. The twine can then wrap around the buttons in front to make the packet close and seal nicely.

I made sure to only glue the end of the floral paper onto the back cover, so that a small pocket was formed. This is where I inserted some photos I'm using for inspiration (from blogs, inspiration boards, and pinterest) as well as some photos of examples of dresses they could wear, and some photos I took of vintage decor we've bought at flea markets that we're going to include in the wedding. I wanted them to get a feel for what the day will be like, because I'm excited out of my mind and I just HAD to share with my best girl friends! I also used photoshop to make a little heart color palette to show them the color theme. I paper clipped the photos together so they wouldn't fall out, and voila! A simple but personal little care package for my future bridesmaids! They all loved it and now all the photos are hanging up on their walls/bulletin boards/fridges. It really makes them feel like a bigger part of my day, which was really important to me because we don't all live near each other so its hard to include them all in the planning process. And hey, it was very budget friendly and fun to make!
