Dream Big Love Bigger

From YOUnique Events & Design: All brides dream of that Pinterest worthy wedding, and I believe that the Lapp/Hansen wedding truly captured all things Pinterest. Bailey and Kurt have known each other for many years, before becoming a couple. They new each other in Highschool, and connected during College in Portland, OR. Their love became solid and after completing college in Portland, returned to their home town area of Hermiston, Oregon. Bailey is a local hygienist by day and an artist by night and Kurt is a local Police Officer by day, who is known around town as Officer Handsome!

Bailey and Kurtis wedding was personalized from the very beginning. They knew they wanted to get married in their home town of Echo and a place that was near and dear to their hearts. They wanted to be surround by family and friends and of course good Oregon wine. Bailey is as creative as they come and you will see how she incorporated the fine linens of Pendleton Wool Co into her bridal decor. She also hand wrote each of her wedding invitation envelopes and created personal gifts for her bridal party. Kurtis, is also handy with wood, hence the beautiful wall.

Their vow's included placing them in a personalized hand carved wooden wine box, to be opened and read on their first anniversary. A personalized signature bottle of wine was included by the gracious owners of Sno Road Winery. Each floral centerpiece was created by me, Trixie Ortiz, with love and attention to every whimsical detail you can imagine and of course my vintage tea pots. We also were able to use some of the brides grandmothers Fenton Glass candelabras.

Beauty on a Budget

From the Bride: My husband and I paid for our wedding ourselves. We are in our later twenties and felt like it was our responsibility. We gave ourselves a budget of $10k, including our honeymoon to Hawaii. We were able to stay within budget by being thrifty and crafty. Our family friends own the winery so our venue had a major discount.

My husband is skilled with wood working; I designed our wedding alter and he exceeded expectations with the final product. I decorated with items from our home, I have a love for vintage goods and antiques. I made all of the chalk boards, including one with wedding details opposed to spending money on wedding programs.

We ordered wholesale flowers in bulk and had a "bridal bouquet party" the night before the wedding where my bridesmaids, myself and my coordinator designed all the bouquets for the event and bridal party. We truly saved a lot of money. Our biggest expense was photography, caterer, wedding coordinator and wedding party attire (we paid for the bridesmaid dresses and groomsmen suit rentals).
