The Wine Cellar is the ultimate private dining venue perfect for intimate receptions, smaller group events and catered functions for up to 50 people. The Wine Cellar features 100 year old, French, paved flooring and stone walls creating a cellar-likeĀ ambiance. The cellar has an authentic feel with mahogany & custom iron furnishings, an oval wooden tasting table, intimate private dining area, and an extensive wine inventory of over 17,000 bottles from around the world. The St. Regis in Laguna Beach offers this and so much more.
This Super small and basic wedding took place in the botanical gardens of the St. Regis Resort and photographed by the artistic Kristi Klemins of KLK Photography.
Hal Friedman and Abby Bowles met in the fall of 2006. Hal is the Artistic Director of the Spotlight Theatre in Bakersfield, California. Abby, a high school teacher by day, and actress by night, Abby auditioned for a show at Hals theatre. From there, the sparks flew. Becoming friends at first and then progressively moving into a relationship, Hal and Abby began dating in the summer of 2007. Hal proposed to Abby in May of 2008 at Disneyland outside of Sleeping Beauty's castle by the wishing well. A date was set of September 18, 2008. The next step was deciding where to have the ceremony and reception. The thought of having it on the east coast was originally spoken of since Hal is from there and his family still lives there. Both Abby and Hal did not want to have it in Bakersfield but decided having it in California would be the way to go. So they looked around and were very excited about choosing the St. Regis Monarch Beach Resort in Dana Point. Hal had stayed there with his family and remembered the amazing setting of the hotel. Abby and Hal decided to make it their destination for the wedding. A small wedding was chosen with 30 guests, limited flowers, no dancing. Even the bride and grooms attire was a suit and evening gown. Hal and Abby decided on the smaller wedding because they wanted an intimate setting. With only 30 people invited, those who were most special to the couple were present. A noon ceremony occurred with a lavish lunch served after. The wedding day was amazing and the staff and setting of the St. Regis could not have been more perfect. Hal and Abby have loved the married life and are expecting a baby this June.
