Rustic Easy-Going Wedding

ranch style wedding

This wonderfully laid-back couple, Nicole and Bryan, wanted a wedding that was personal to them and would also make them feel at home with their friends and family. Their search brought them to the Flying Caballos Guest Ranch. With it's relaxed, unhurried atmosphere, the ranch was the perfect place to hold their down to earth wedding.
Nicole and Bryan's favorite photographer, Mirelle Carmichael Photography, was there to capture all love and warmth of their big day. To see more of this rustic easy-going wedding please visit the full gallery here.

From Sealed With A Kiss Events:The ceremony arch was created using seeded eucalyptus and sunflowers, and some potted plants were added at the bottom. The flowers at the beginning of the aisle as well as the stunning personal bouquets were by the talented team at Festive Designs. They were just perfect with the navy and burnt orange color scheme.

During cocktail hour, cheese and fruits were served as the amazing Paul Lemire played guitar and sang some favorite songs. The food was delicious! It was cooked and served by local BBQ owners of Old San Luis BBQ. They had a plethora of amazing foods at the buffet and carving station. Perfect for the setting at Flying Caballos.

The escort cards were tags that wrapped around a mason jar - each a favor for the guest as the signage (on the chalkboard door) described, "your glass for the night, for whatever tastes right!" .

Another caring aspect of Nicole and Bryan's reception was the cab number they had posted at their bar. This fun little chalkboard sign stating "Been boozin'? Don't go cruzin'."

Nicole's mom, Barbara, made all of the centerpieces herself. From cutting out the burlap and staining the tops of wine boxes and wood slices to the flowers and branches, she did it all! Such a labor of love. Each of the tables had a wine bottle wrapped in burlap with their table number. Guests were instructed to write advice for the couple and place it in the bottle. A definite steal worthy idea.

The  fun pie table was a wine barrel table with crates with all kinds of pies from central coast bakeries Coco's Bakery and Apple Farm. The groom loves Banana Cream Pie, and the bride went for a gluten free cake, each had a cake topper with the bride dragging the groom and the groom dragging the bride (so cute!).

From the Bride:I would've maybe prepared more for how chilly it was at the location. Just in terms of more heaters, etc. As far as my dress I was very happy, but yes uncomfortable haha.

Read on to see how much this rustic easy-going wedding cost. Please note that costs change as the years go by, and prices are subject to change. This is just one couple’s breakdown to give you a rough estimate on how much a wedding like this may cost you.

As far as our budget, we spent about $32-35k, including absolutely everything. We loved our vendors and feel like everything was well worth it. We were extremely happy that the things that we thought were most important were done well and even surpassed our expectations. The food, the music, the booze and the venue. It was great! We also loved that since the location was out of town, yet not too far, people were easily able to come and still feel like they were also on a vacation getaway. Plus the whole event lasted 4 days, considering the moment you leave town to begin prepping, the fun begins!
