Relaxed Cape Cod Beach Wedding

beach cruiser at wedding

Cole is an artist and architectural student and Kelly has a background in decorating and prop building for theatrical productions. So, as you will see, everything at their wedding was visually lovely. From their handcrafted Save The Date video, to their wedding invites that were individually hand painted by Cole. Don't worry it was a small backyard wedding, so he did not paint 250 wedding invites!
It was actually held in the small backyard of Kelly's parents beach house on Cape Cod. Followed by a small gluten free brunch in the backyard. There is seriously so many photos of Cole and Kelly's Cape Cod beach wedding that you must view the full gallery here to see them all. All photographed by Vienna Glenn Photography.

Advice to those planning a wedding from the bride:Have an honest talk about what it is you truly want, and then do it. It is your day, stay true to who you are. We spent $5000 on our wedding and wouldn’t have changed a thing! If you are on a budget, spend the money on an amazing photographer and cut the costs on things you can make yourself.

Those pictures will be the key back into the best day of your life. Don’t be afraid to ask for help. Most guests would be more than happy to lend a hand with a task to help your day run smoother. Last, don’t worry about the small stuff. At the end of the day, all that really matters is if the groom is there waiting at the end of the aisle.

Kelly’s dress was a simple long dress, but she asked the seamstress to cut the bottom and make it scalloped. It came out perfect. The bridesmaids each picked any dress they felt comfortable in. The idea was they would wear navy and white and some would have a pattern. Kelly gave them pearl earrings as a gift, because the ring Cole designed for his bride and asked Kelly to marry him with, is a pearl. Kelly also wore the same pearls her mother wore at her wedding. Both Cole and Kelly feel so connected to the water, a pearl is the perfect stone to show our love.

The groomsmen were given boat shoes as a gift from Cole because those were the shoes Cole’s late father always wore. They each carried a piece of Glenn with them on the day. We didn’t have a ring bearer, but rather a rope bearer, and he did a GREAT job! We now have the knot on display in our home.

Something the bride would have changed:As far as the day goes, we would not change a thing. The one thing we would advise is to have someone outside of the wedding party and the bride and groom be in charge of making sure everything is set up and ready to go for your day. It is far less stressful and then everyone just has to worry about having a good time.

The brunch was catered by Idgy's, a gluten free restaurant on Cape Cod and equipped with Kelly’s perfect wedding cake, a panCAKE! The cake topper was the same one on Cole’s parents’ wedding cake. A non-gf cereal bar was put together in apothecary jars and a toast table was equipped with special jam from the Jam Pot from the Keweenaw Peninsula in Michigan.
