Ok, aren't you a whee bit curious about the couple whose save the dates are as amazing as these!? Kyle and Lauren's relationship began in quite an exciting way and it is fair to say they have equally as exciting plans to continue the adventure well into their future. You really cannot miss the unbelievably exotic floral decor at the reception as well as two heart melting flower girls. From Catherine Hall Studios:Lauren and Kyle knew from the very beginning that they wanted their special day to be nestled in the scenery of one of their favorite places, Lake Tahoe, CA. Both are avid skiers, and nature enthusiasts, who thrive in the adventure of their active lifestyles. Professionally, Lauren utilized her passion for architecture and design in San Francisco, CA, while Kyle braved the wilderness of Tahoe’s National Forest as a rural fire fighter.
As the wedding date neared, coordinator, Stephanie Anderson of One Fine Day Events put together the final details on their outdoor reception, and made sure that their easy going-chic theme was illustrated in every inch of their decor. Before they knew it, Lauren and Kyle’s wedding day had arrived, and amongst the smell of fresh pine trees and soft summer air.
After an emotional ceremony and effervescent cocktail hour, everyone dined on exquisite catering from West Shore Cafe. There was a delicious assortment of summer cocktails, including ginger beer, and Lauren’s favorite the Moscow Mule! If you are needing a summer wedding cocktail, do we have a treat for you!
This lemon mojito is classically refreshing and the perfect signature cocktail! You will need: 15 mint leaves, 1/2 oz fresh lime juice, 1/2 oz simple syrup, 1 oz of fresh lemon juice, 2 oz of white rum, 2 dashes of Angostura bitters, soda water, mint and/or lime wedge for garnish.
1. Add mint, lime juice, lemon juice, and simple syrup to a cocktail shaker and gently muddle.
2. Add rum and bitters to the shaker, fill with ice, and shake.
3. Strain into an ice-filled highball or Collins glass.
4. Top with soda water and garnish with a sprig of fresh mint and lime wedge.
Their first date included skiing at Kirkwood, and while it ended rather inauspiciously for Lauren, Kyle just happened to be the perfect remedy to her in her time of need. Hitting the slopes seemed like the perfect way for the couple to get to know each other until that is; Lauren fell and broke her leg. Kyle, being the perfect gentleman, went above and beyond to visit and care for Lauren during her recovery in San Francisco.
Miniature bright floral arrangements, hung suspended in glass jars throughout the venue, compliments of Stems By Diana. They provided the perfect compliment to the mineral inspired undertones of the luxury linens which draped their outdoor reception tables.
As the night fell on their beautiful outdoor party, Lauren and Kyle said goodbye to their guests and departed in a vintage Mercedes convertible. Not off to their honeymoon just yet, they had to wait until the end of fire season of course. Lauren predicts it will be a trek through Nepal, or indulging in some authentic pizza tasting in Italy, maybe even both!
If she could leave one piece of advice behind for brides to be, it would be “don’t sweat the small stuff, family and friends always step up to help out, so enjoy your day!.” Judging by the amazing energy that surrounded their entire celebration, I would say her philosophy certainly paid off.
