Pretty Pink Stanford Wedding

elegant wedding ideas @weddingchicks

Lindsay and Scott envisioned an elegant reception, sprinkled with bits of glam, where their guests could have a wonderful time. After attending plenty of weddings they both had good ideas of what they wanted, and didn't want, and from there they created a beautiful day!
They selected hues of blush, bright pink and coral with navy and gold accents. The geometric cake, linens and brides accessories all sparkled. Gather even more wonderful ideas from this pretty pink Stanford wedding when you view the full gallery here, captured by Christina McNeill.

tailgate party for rehearsal dinner

Scott and I met during our sophomore year at Stanford and both have so many fond memories there that we knew there was nowhere else we wanted to get married but in the beautiful Memorial Church at Stanford. We live in Washington, D.C. and knew we would have a bunch of family and friends attending the wedding from across the country, so we wanted to make it a full weekend celebration. Instead of a rehearsal dinner, we hosted a lunch for our wedding party before the rehearsal, and then a welcome party tailgate for all of our guests before a Friday night Stanford football game. Not only are Scott and I big Stanford fans, we're also huge Stanford (and other!) sports fans, so it was the perfect event to encapsulate our relationship and kick off our wedding weekend.

candy buffet favors

The couple wanted a mixture of flowers to compliment the venues eclectic art decor and design. They ranged from lush feminine centerpieces, a succulent garden that held their escort cards and fresh herb cocktail arrangements that were incorporated into their specialty cocktails. Icing on the cake, an incredible candy bar for guests to enjoy as they departed with a sweet note from the couple.

The best advice I got before the wedding, that I think is important for all perfectionist type-A personalities out there is that no one knows what you were planning, so don't worry if things don't go exactly as you planned! If even half of your ideas make it to your wedding, you and your guests will still have a fabulous time!
