How We Met: The "red string of fate", is an East Asian belief originating from Chinese legend. According to this myth, the gods tie an invisible red string around the ankles of men and women who are destined to be soul mates and will one day marry each other. When I think about how Solomon and I met, I can't help but find truth to the legend that the "red string of fate" brought us together. During high school our paths could have crossed countless times as I attended weekly music lessons for several years in the same townhouse community that he lived.  We were both members of the same gym for 2 years before finally meeting in December 2004 when Solomon messaged me through a social networking community that we were both members of.  A simple "hello" lead to a magical first date that neither of us wanted to end.

The Proposal and Greece: On my birthday in December 2007 I was completely surprised when my engagement ring was served to me as dessert!  Once the ring was revealed under the platter, Solomon got down on one knee and proposed.  All I remember is saying yes and the congratulations from the other restaurant guests that witnessed the moment. When we started envisioning the big day we knew we wanted an intimate wedding in a romantic and idyllic setting.  The Greek island of Santorini was our first choice for a honeymoon destination but when I suggested that we turn our honeymoon destination into a wedding destination,  Solomon's eyes just light up and I knew he was onboard with the idea.

The Wedding: In May 2009, we set off with our closest family and friends to Santorini for our big day. Our group stayed at Ira Hotel in the village of Firostefani.  The owners of Ira Hotel treated us like family for the entire stay.   Our wedding day was blessed with perfect weather.  I wore an an ivory strapless gown designed by Tara Keely and Solomon was dressed in a tailored Armani suit.  As a wedding gift to us, Ira Hotel organized an afternoon Chinese tea ceremony on the hotel terrace with the beautiful vista of the caldera as a backdrop.  After the tea ceremony the entire group was transported to Santorini Princess Luxury Spa Hotel where our sunset wedding ceremony and reception was to be hosted.  Encircled by the love of our family and friends, and overlooking the magnificent caldera and Aegean Sea, we exchanged our wedding vows.  A wonderful dinner reception in a private area of the hotel terrace followed where we were treated to impeccable food and service, and celebrated the night away with our family and friends.
