Glamorous Vintage Wedding

gold and white bouquet

This glamorous vintage wedding was a Gatsby styled surprise for the bride and groom. This adorable couple left the planning up to their fabulous coordinator, When Pigs Fly Events, who filled their day with vintage 1920's themed decor and even a secret speakeasy for the after reception party! The ceremony was set in a courtyard housed by walls painted with the prettiest shade of blue and then open to the blue skies above. We ran with the blue and chose a 'Gatsbyesque' blue toned fabric for a 55' custom aisle runner. Above the guests hung romantic chandeliers created from rose petals, pearls, and ostrich feathers - created by the talented Catherine of Layers of Lovely.

Glamorous Wedding Ideas

From When Pigs Fly Events: Designing a wedding is a dream when you work with clients who give you the freedom to completely surprise them! Alicia, our stunning bride, envisioned a dreamy space where the glamour of Gatsby met the beauty of nature. We found the quote, "Breathing Dreams like Air," from The Great Gatsby and it served as the driving force behind our design inspiration.

For the cocktail hour, we used a lot of whimsical decor elements to complement the hanging parasols and to create the feel of a garden party. The bearcats and flappers (ladies of the party) were invited to the 'lounge' to treat themselves to a feathered head adornment. Our wire and fabric trees (a steal from Free People) served as the wishing tree guestbook.

When guests entered into the reception space, they were treated to an aromatic blast of sweetness from the abundant lushness of the florals. The head table sat in the center of the room in a square formation. We asked Layers of Lovely to create "trees" growing from the center of the table. She added gorgeous florals and delicate floating tea lights to the branches. It looked dreamy.

Stevi from Hey there, Cupcake! created an unbelievable masterpiece of a cake. She topped it with 2 doves which held a special meaning to Ryan & Alicia. Some of our favorite details in the space were our repurposed musical horns that had floral musical notes floating out of them.

Guests were treated to a popcorn bar that had Reese's Pieces, M&M's and Hot tamales that you could mix in with the popcorn. Not to mention the super fun sign.
