Cupcake/Truffle Tower: What to Consider

Today is modern Tuesday on my Kate Parker Wedding! Connecticut Wedding Cake Designer, Sweet Rewards, shares some tips with us on what to think about when opting for a cupcake tower rather than a cake. Choosing cupcakes or truffles over a full cake is such a fun and modern idea! It can give your guests opportunities to try more than one flavor. Whether served by your caterer or set up as a buffet, they are sure to create buzz and fun! The full expert advice article was featured on my Kate Parker Weddings, check it out here!

As a baker/cake designer, it is our role to help a bride and groom select a cupcake tower that is pleasing both to the eye and the palate.  There are many things to consider.

  • Quantity-Depending on how you decide to serve your goodies you may choose 1, 1.5, or 2 treats per guest
  • Top Tier..Cake or Cupcake? Do you want to have the classic experience of cutting into a cake? If so, have the top tier be a small cake that you can still cut and feed each other. If not, have two big cupcakes instead which still allows for the tradition of feeding one another.
  • Serving-Buffet or Servers? It is really up to you which you would prefer. Both are perfect options for this modern tower!
