Bridal Flea Market : Junk in the Trunk

Bridal Flea Market : Junk in the Trunk

In early November, the ladies of 915 Monmouth held their second Junk in the Trunk Bridal Flea Market. Whatever could this be, you ask? It's actually quite simple. The girls that occupy 915 : Kristen of Five Dot Design, Marti of Marti's Floral Design, Julie of Cincy Event Planning, Jacalyn of JMM Photography and Kelly of Cinci Makeup put a call-out to past brides with decor items or DIY projects from their wedding they're wanting to sell. The response was fantastic!

Lace and burlap wrapped jars were a huge hit! An assortment of bud vases, chalkboard platters, jars and votives went quickly.

Shuffled dishware provide a gorgeous and unexpected touch to dinner After we've collected items from these brides, we then invite to-be brides to come in and shop! Not only does this allow past brides to make some room in closets and basements (and a little extra cash!), but girls that are getting married can come in and shop for some great items at reasonable prices. It's a win-win all around. We invited a few crafters to sell their wedding-specific items and we'll be looking for even more crafters next year, as those items went quick.

As you can tell from the photos, the Ladies of 915 take the time to style like-items together and are available during the sale to answer questions. We give suggestions on how to style pieces in your own wedding and we're able to give suggestions on other pieces to look for that will compliment your purchases. We have a great time planning and working this event, as it not only keeps us current with what brides are using in their decor, but we meet so many great people that have never been to our studio (check it out here). We even had buyers from the first Junk sale come back and sell items they bought for their wedding... so to-be brides can buy without hesitation, knowing they can sell their items after their wedding. We love that!
Thinking you might want to participate in the Spring Junk in the Trunk or know someone that would love to check it out in person?  Sign up here and we'll make sure you're the first to know when we choose the date for our next Junk in the Trunk!
