Beautiful Blush Texas Wedding

peachbridesmaidsdresses

Mike and Alice planned everything about their wedding day together. It was essential to both of them that their day reflected their personalities and whats most important in their lives: love and family.  They decided on a romantic celebration with a backyard garden feel.
They wanted to include all of their favorite date places as well which led to a coffee toast and a grooms pie! Join in all of the fun and take a peek at the rest of this beautiful blush Texas wedding in the full gallery here, photographed by Anna Smith Photography.

A Private First Look

Family is extremely important to both of us and we wanted to include them in our wedding day as much as possible. My mom created the wedding signs, my brother in law designed the maps, we used my grandmother's cake stand, and my cousin, Mark, officiated our ceremony.  Honestly I feel that all of the big things about our wedding went great and perfectly summed up Mike and I's relationship. The only small thing I might have done differently would be to make our first look completely private. We loved having our private last dance, and looking back on our day, a private first look would have given us another opportunity to take it all in as just the two of us.

Flower Girl Power

I have so many favorite memories of our wedding day, but the one that stands out most is when we were all anxiously waiting in the back room to walk down the aisle. We were so nervous that our little flower girl, Shelby, was going to be shy and not make it down the aisle. When it came time to line up, she assertively looks at us and says, "Come on girls! Line up, lets go!". Needless to say, she owned her job as flower girl!

Ditch The Dress

I actually decided to change into my getaway outfit earlier than I had planned, and it was one of the best decisions! I absolutely loved my Hayley Paige dress, but our dance floor was packed the entire night and I was so nervous someone was going to step on it so I decided to change about an hour before our exit so that I could dance without worry! My other advice would be to eat a big breakfast and lunch on your wedding day! Even though our caterer made us a plate of food, we weren't hungry at our reception because we were both so excited! On that note, make sure your new husband feeds you an actual piece of wedding cake and not 100% icing. :) That sure made for some great photos though.

The First Dance

Another favorite moment from our wedding day was our private last dance. We had such an amazing whirlwind of a wedding day, and having those 3 minutes for ourselves at the end of the night is something I will never forget. It's very surreal to be surrounded by every single person who is important in our lives and having them all together in the same room. Mike and I have never felt more loved and supported by those who are nearest and dearest to our hearts. For that, we are forever grateful.See their wedding video below, filmed by University Film Productions.
