Getting Married at This Texas Hotspot Is Totally [Fort] Worth It

Just wanted to take this time to serve everyone a friendly reminder that destination weddings DON’T have to be international affairs. Of course, nuptials in Lake Como are positively breathtaking, but if you’re an American couple, there are plenty of places to plan domestic destination I Dos, and all of them promise an epic time for all. Not to mention, for your guests, who would love a tropical trip to see you tie the knot, but have vacationed in these locales before, they’d probably prefer you chose somewhere unexpected. It makes taking a few days off from work (if needed) even more warranted. How about Texas? We talked to The Worthington Renaissance Fort Worth Hotel to get a pulse check on their wedding celebrations, and let’s just say, we’re hoping that some of our friends want to add some boot-scootin’ sass to their special days. Texas vows? Count us in!!

Why Fort Worth?

Well, for one, it’s the #1 tourist destination in Texas, welcoming 9.4 million visitors annually. It’s also known as The City of Cowboys & Culture, and how fun is that? To invite your friends and family to a wedding weekend right in the epicenter of cowboys and culture? I dig it!

The Worthington Renaissance, itself, is super easy to get to - located one block from Sundance Square in the heart of DT Fort Worth. It’s one mile from the Amtrack and Greyhound stations and in close proximity to both Dallas/Fort Worth International (DFW) and Dallas Love Field (DAL) airports. So, if any of your guests give you flak about choosing a place that’s ‘too remote,’ you can kindly say ‘I don’t think so!’

Maybe even think about sending them your Save the Date with a full-bleed picture like this one 👇. That view is unbelievable!

Just think about those welcome bags…

Okay, so apart from being able to fill your guests’ welcome swag bags up with sooo many Fort Worth noshes and nibbles (we can legit name like 7 dynamite doughnut places right around the corner), just think about the weekend itinerary you can wow them with. There are more than 92 attractions in the 10-mile downtown radius, including the longest running stock show and rodeo in the country. Come for the wedding, stick around for the rodeo, heyooo!

We love this so much, because a wedding will always be memorable, two people are saying ‘yes’ to forever and the day will inevitably be jam-packed with delicious food, drinks, dancing, and downtime. But when you get married in a destination that’s known for its lush lineup of things to do, then you’re making the experience that much more exciting and thoughtful for your partygoers.

Just make sure you come up with a killer wedding hashtag for the occasion, because your guests are going to want to know where they should Gram the goods.

The hotel itself is haute and then some

Whether you expect 40 guests for your destination wedding or can imagine an affair with over 1000 guests (whoa!), you can trust in The Worthington Renaissance as your venue. The hotel boasts a wide range of reception venues, including the outdoor Terrace and the massive Rio Grande Room, and can host all of your wedding events, from the rehearsal dinner to the reception. All in one, central location, so that you can spend less time running between Texas event sites and more time celebrating.

… Now about that Terrace. You really can’t compete with its aesthetic. At 11,288-square ft., the Terrace hardly needs enhancement - there is so much natural and curated charm, from the whimsical trees on-site to the stunning lucite chiavari chairs; though the Fort Worth vendors, especially the local floral designers, regularly do the MOST with the space. With Fort Worth City Hall in the background, the Terrace can host a romantic wedding ceremony for up to 500 people or a cocktail reception for 300. And in the event of rain (which is off chance, because Texas has nearly year-round sun, NBD), the staff offers a backup indoor site.

The cuisine is big on flavor (it’s Texas, why wouldn’t it be?)

Their wedding menus tender a wide selection of formal favorites, Texas specialties and late-night bites, along with gourmet buffet and plated options. With more than 50 combined years of knowledge and experience, the hotel’s culinary and event management teams know a little something about throwing a good party. They’ve hosted every type of celebration and are happy to work with you on a completely tailored fete. Not to mention, their Marriott Certified Wedding Planners bring both formal training and on-the-job experience to every wedding, building lasting relationships with each couple and creating celebrations that are truly unique and out of this world.
