Citrus inspiration

From Lisa Marshall Photography: Since the venue is a working citrus farm and the house authentically furnished with antiques, when I first visited I knew right away that I wanted to infuse a bit of citrus and an antique element but keep it classy. The oranges on the property were the inspiration behind the color pallet. The bright oranges, pinks and deep burgundy along with the gold were pulled together beautifully in the décor, cake, invitations and floral arrangements.

The Protea also added a fun floral element and complimented the color pallet perfectly. Buds Etc. provided most of the table décor, all linens and designed the amazing florals. Orange blossoms freshly picked that morning from the farm were sprinkled throughout the décor along with oranges, mangos and limes. The farmhouse table was built from wood obtained on the property itself and the table décor consisted of gold and brass mismatched bowls, candle stands that date back to the 1820’s and glassware.

Something old and something new

The overall feel was to “glam up the citrus farm” but stay true to the history behind the venue, add a bit of character and explode bright colors to make the place come alive again! The house and property have both recently been restored and new citrus trees planted. The Model A was icing on the cake to add another element of history and time. All of the décor and details were again a collaboration of all wedding professionals digging through grandma’s china cabinet, gathering items from home and borrowing from family and friends to make the vision come to life.
