Very Pretty Villa Wedding

bright and colorful wedding bouquet

This cute couple wanted their wedding to reflect their laid back personalities and easy going style. It was important for the evening to feel like "them" which meant lots of DIY projects and hands-on details. Their venue was none other than than the lovely Villa San Juan Capistrano.
They ended up with a beautiful bohemian feel with a variety of colors and lots of candlelight. Feathers and buntings highlighted the easygoing mood perfectly. Be dazzled by all the ideas from this very pretty villa wedding, found in the full gallery here, all photographed by Studio EMP.

Advice From The Bride

My advice for other brides is to pick out the most important aspects of the wedding and then work off of that. We wanted to focus on making the day about us and creating an inviting, intimate, and casual atmosphere for our family and friends. It was also important to highlight all the homemade details put together by our family members. It is hard to pick out one moment that stood out because it really was the most amazing day for both of us. It is the one day when you have all your loved ones around you at the same time. Enjoy it and don't get too wrapped up in the details!

DIY Galore

I prefer homemade items so we would able reduce some costs. My Mom is an amazing cook and seamstress so all our desserts were home-made; including our wedding cake (carrot cake because it is my husbands favorite). Additionally, my Mom made each napkin for the tables, the bunting banners, and the flower girl outfits. The cobalt bottles on the tables were passed down from my Grandma and the lace on the dessert table was given to my Grandma by her mother-in-law. The bracelets I wore were a gift from my Dad to my Mom after a trip to South Africa and our officiant was my husband's close friend. We wrote our own vows to add a personal touch to the ceremony.

The Villa San Juan Capistrano

Imagine a warm summer evening in an ancient courtyard hidden by giant fruit trees and illuminated by Spanish gas lamps. Surrounded by the ones you love, you walk down an aisle of cobbled stone and as you share your first kiss as man and wife, the Basilica bells chime. The same people who gave you The Ramos House Cafe, have now brought you The Villa San Juan Capistrano. From the three hundred year old art on the walls, to the state of the art audio visual systems, from the hand hammered iron to the meticulous menu, every detail has been seen to. The Villa is nothing short of breathtaking.
