A Dress Worth Paying For

My dress was 2,000. Honestly more than I wanted to spend but I had made up my mind I wanted an all lace long sleeve bohemian gown and when I saw this one with Daughters of Simone I couldn’t imagine anything else.

Budget Friendly Planning

The venue was my husband’s parent’s land (they own roughly 20 acres of land with pecan trees) so that was free. We rented a tent, chairs, tables, and linens and that was around 3,000. The food we prepared ourselves. Tacos were a great do it yourself option and we ended up spending around 300ish dollars for 150 guests.

Friend Funded Centerpieces

The decor we made on our own, again with help of family and friends. The one thing I loved about our center pieces was a collaboration with a local succulent shop (The Plant Shoppe in OKC). They often host terrarium workshops and offered the use of their shoppe for me and my friends and family to come in and make 25 different individualized terrariums.

The participants of the event all purchased their terrariums and were able to take them home after the wedding night. This helped tremendously with the cost of center pieces. And it was a great way to get all my girls together before the wedding.  Total, our wedding cost about 5-6k. Which I’m very proud of for a total of 150 guests.

Don’t Do It Yourself Music

The only flaw I really remember from our big day was with the music. We used my phone for music during the ceremony (due to location we couldn’t use my laptop seamlessly from the ceremony to reception) and even with it on do not disturb every time someone tagged us on social media it disconnected my phone from our speaker system. So that was not as seamless as we desired. I would suggest budget friendly brides invest in a DJ.
