Sweet Vintage Yellow Wedding

This wedding is so super cute, we can't get enough! From the typewriter note that said "meet me at the altar" to all of the carefully selected vintage decor borrowed from family members, the day is one of a kind and oh so beautiful.
This couple is so sweet and a little rain couldn't even begin to ruin their day with such beautiful and bright spirits in attendance. Feel free to fawn over more of the details from their sweet vintage yellow wedding in the full gallery here, photographed by AMBphoto.

Wedding Dreams Do Come True

From the moment we became engaged, we knew what was most important to us. Our wedding would be personal, brimming with love, laughter, and praise of the Lord, and reflect who we are as a couple. Somehow, all of our wedding dreams came true. We are blessed to have shared our personal vows in my parent’s backyard in Merrickville, Ontario. We feel tremendously fortunate to call the place we were married “our family home.” There is great love there, and it meant the world to us to preserve it.

Be Inspired By You

For our decor, we were inspired by our life together and what we love to do - spend time outside, thrift shop, play games, dance to our records, choose colorful art, and eat great food. In addition, we wanted our guests, the people we love and cherish most, to feel our love for them. Personal details were very important to us. As a result, we pulled special items, photographs, and furniture from our home and the homes of our relatives. Graham and I share an unwavering love of antiques, and it felt special to incorporate personal belongings into our decor.

Thrift Your Heart Out

With the help of my beautiful bridesmaids, we thrifted all of our vases, later to hold the fresh cut flowers of Full Bloom Floral Design. We made wooden signs out of my dad’s scrap barn wood and made a seating chart out of old antique windows. Our centerpieces consisted of florals, table numbers made of scrabble pieces (one of our favorite board games), and vintage trinkets, some as small as tea tins and some as large as sewing machines. It was also important to us that our wedding capture our unique interests. Craft beer, Polaroid cameras, and the color yellow were obvious themes.

Embrace The Imperfections

This is going to sound cliché, but I wouldn’t change a thing. That isn’t to say that things didn't go wrong. I left Graham’s boutonniere in our hotel room. We forgot two bags of petals, intended for the aisle of our ceremony. It rained incessantly from the moment we finished our photos until the moment we said our goodbyes. But none of it mattered. It was the most perfect day of our lives. To be honest, it's three months later and we are still completely in awe. Small imperfections only made it feel more genuine (and funny)!
