Mint Wedding Full Of Signs

mint and yellow wedding ideas @weddingchicks

Emily and  Raymond's wedding day was a little rainy but it sure made for some gorgeous photos. A cheerful color palette of mint and yellow went a long way for brightening the overcast day.
The darling couple wanted to keep things simple and focus on having the time of their lives surrounded by their nearest and dearest. Simple can definitely be sweet, see all the little details from this mint wedding full of signs in the complete gallery here, photographed by Betty Elaine.

Why To Hire A Day Of Coordinator

I made most of the decor and our family friend made some really amazing signs for us as well. We used simple tulle for draping, kept things clean and bright with lots of white and gold and brought in color with the fun random mix of flowers. Our "splurge" was hiring a day of coordinator. Not only was she full of great money saving tips and ideas during the planning process, but the day of she was everywhere at once making sure things were exactly how they should be, and kept everything running without a hitch.

Wedding BBQ

Highlights for us were the reception of course! It's always so fun to get to see everyone and relax after the ceremony stress is over, and the DJ did a great job keeping things fun. The 2nd best part was the food. Double Barrel BBQ did an amazing job and the food was delicious! Our guests also really loved the open bar, surprise surprise! We had 2 signature drinks- one was my favorite drink choice , and the other was a family tradition and in honor of Raymond's grandpa who had passed away the year before.

Book Your Coordinator Early

One thing I would have done different is to have gotten my day of coordinator sooner. I didn't have her until farther towards the end, and she was such a wealth of information and help which would have been really great earlier on! Also, remember that it's a day about you and your other half. It can be hard to remember that when planning! Just remember that everything works out, people get over any guest list issues, and the day should be about celebrating you and your person surrounded by all the people you love.

Let Your Venue Speak About You

We picked this venue because we had attended a wedding there over 7 years ago when we first started dating. It's a simple but gorgeous venue, and it's on the beach which is a place we spend a lot of time together. We kept it simple, laid back and wanted it to be more like a big backyard/summer party then a formal traditional wedding- simple decorations, simple attire for the bridal party, good BBQ food, open bar with our favorite drinks, homemade raspberry and strawberry jam for favors and a lot of handmade decorations.

Read on to see how much this mint wedding full of signs cost. Please note that costs change as the years go by, and prices are subject to change. This is just one couple’s breakdown to give you a rough estimate on how much a wedding like this may cost you.

Our wedding was about 180 people. My husbands side of the family is quite large. Affording to have such a wonderful day with everyone there wouldn't have been possible without the help we got from our families. I am a thrifty person normally, so when planning I tried to find the best price for everything. I used dollar store vases and spray painted. Cheap rolls of tulle online for draping, bought my tablecloths for $7 ea as opposed to renting ($13), ect. All in all I think I spent $500 on decor. My splurges were food, photo and music. Our photographer was new to the area, but very experienced and talented. We got her for a steal for her talent level at only $2400, which included the engagement session. I cannot say enough amazing things about my photographer and I recommend her to everyone. Our dj was about $2,000 and totally worth every penny. The BBQ caterer was about $3500. The photo booth was $1,000. Our venue was an amazing deal, we rented it Friday to have time to setting up too For both nights it was $3,000. Overall, I saved a ton by making most of the decor and scouting deals online. In the end we were around/slightly under $17,000.
