Arizona Desert Wedding Inspiration: Gold Sequins & Sunset Hues

Share

Bride in shimmering gold bodice dress and colorful bouquet

The desert landscape in Arizona may not seem wedding worthy, however you may think twice after seeing this next wedding inspiration. With pops of color throughout, and one amazing gold sequin wedding dress from Bella Lily Bridal , it’s chic, modern and totally swoon-worthy down to the last detail.
Using the natural desert elements all around, Hytched Weddings & Events pulled out all the stops for this beautiful shoot. If you’re ready for more amazing images from April Maura Photography then check out the full gallery here.

Sunset inspiration

This shoot was heavily influenced by the Arizona Desert and Arizona Sunset. When the sun goes down in the Sonoran Desert, a thousand hues of yellow, orange, and pink fill the sky. How amazing would it be, I thought, if we could capture this in a styled shoot to showcase a wedding inspired by this natural beauty.

Desert modern

The black and white striped table runner gave a modern element to this shoot, and the flowers and cacti were placed on top of it. There were coral napkins and cactus pads at each place setting, personalized with calligraphy painted names. We had clear chargers with gold beads on the perimeter, intricate gold flatware, and coupe glasses at each place setting.

Local plants

Desert plants were heavily emphasized from Prim Unique Rentals. We had a variety of cacti and succulents potted in different vases and containers. The pots were gold, coral, white, and orange. The flowers were in gold vases and mimicked the yellow, orange, and pink colors of the Arizona sunset.

Natural inspiration

I hope this shoot helps couples draw inspiration from the natural beauty they are surrounded by on a daily basis. It is always tempting to bring in draping and uplighting, to “pull out all the stops.” But when you have a beautiful canvas to begin with, you don’t necessarily need all the extra sass.
