Morning Upside Down Wedding

Unearthed Photography @weddingchicks

Britainy's vision for their wedding was a simple, outdoor, morning celebration. Both her and Ryan really wanted their wedding to be an expression of the love we have for each other and for Christ, and didn’t want anything else to get in the way. It was also an “upside down” wedding with their breakfast "reception” first and ceremony second. See all of the cuteness from this morning upside down wedding in the full gallery here, photographed by Unearthed Photography.

a white wedding

I knew that I wanted the only “wedding color” to be white, and to let the rest of the color come from the natural elements of the garden – flowers, wood, and leaves. When we found Weston Gardens, we knew it had all of the natural elements we wanted. We used wood rounds as part of the centerpieces and other accents that my parents cut from trees at our family’s ranch (where Ryan and I had our first kiss and later got engaged!).

breakfast buffet with newspaper programs

We served breakfast, buffet style. We had a cereal bar, a fruit and yogurt area, biscuits and jam with honey and butter, and Chicken Minis from Chick-fil-a (they were a hit!) I also wanted the simplicity of the “mason jar” look without using mason jars or burlap. We had a morning paper as our program. Everyone said this was one of their favorite parts. We had games and puzzles on the inside that had fun trivia facts about us.

100% diy

Our wedding was 100% DIY! I made my own wedding dress. My parents helped put together the backdrop for the altar, which they made from 2 antique doors. I also did all of the flower arrangements, invitations, and styling for the wedding. I found green antique style honey jars as well as a variety of other antique bottles. They added a few pops of color while still enhancing both the natural and breakfast themes that ran throughout our wedding.

donut tower

After the ceremony, we had donuts instead of cake and had individual paper doily cones filled with donut holes for everyone to enjoy (also a big hit!) I think the most memorable moment was having our first look and really getting to spend some quality time together before the wedding. Our first dance was to Ben Rector’s version of “I Wanna Dance With Somebody”.
