Colorful Vintage Summer Wedding

yellow pink and orange bouquet @weddingchicks

There are so many details throughout this colorful vintage summer wedding that tell the story of the bride and groom. For starters, Adam and Melanie met while playing softball, so they incorporated that theme loosely into their day with fun elements like - a softball cake topper from Etsy, and chocolate covered sunflower seeds. So fun ... right?
We are in awe of their entire day! There are so many more details to see, view every single one of them all for yourself in the full gallery here, captured by Anna Marks Photography.

The Glory Of Ramekins

For the venue, we wanted to be somewhere near San Francisco that would offer the warm summer day and balmy summer night, considering San Francisco in July is cold and foggy. Ramekins was a recommendation and once we saw it we fell in love. It was that wine country feel without being too far out of the way for all of our guests to attend, plus it included almost everything we needed! Excellent food, tables, chairs, ceremony venue, reception venue, bistro lights, dessert, and beautiful antiques so we wouldn't have to bring in many decorations. We booked with Ramekins and crossed about 50 things off our list, it was fantastic.

Accentuate Natural Beauty

As for the flowers and wedding colors, I love color so I literally used all of them in the flowers. My favorite flower is a sunflower and I knew the bright yellow and various other colorful shades would pair nicely with the mint green dresses I picked for my Matrons of Honor. All of this worked very well with the natural stone and wood tones at Ramekins. That was the point - to work with the landscape at Ramekins and simply accentuate it, not change it or take over. I am eternally grateful and thankful for my mom who made a lot of our details.

Planning Advice

My best advice for future brides is to start planning a year in advance if possible. You need to give yourself time to think of everything you want, realize you won't be able to do everything you want, and then have time to start to prioritize and fine tune your dream day. Also, be sure to think about guest logistics as you look for a venue so more people will be able to attend. Also, get a wedding planner for at least the day of – it was the best decision ever. You don't want to do anything on that day except enjoy yourselves and your guests. At the end of the day, the most important things is that you enjoy the journey. Plan with enough time to enjoy the last two weeks leading up to the day because that's when family and friends might start to come into town and you'll want to be around. It will be an incredible day you will not want to forget or miss, so look around you and have a great time!
