Red and Gold Wedding

Red, Pink and white wedding bouquet @weddingchicks

Our next couple literally weathered the storm at the end of their big day when a thunderstorm blew down their reception! However, there was just too much love in the air to dampen anyone's spirits.
We know you are going to LOVE their beautiful red and gold wedding. Overflowing with personal details that are too sweet for words. Did we mention the mix n match GOLD bridesmaid dresses? They're gorgeous! Despite the bad weather, there is still plenty more to see! View the rest of this red and gold wedding here. Captured by Melissa Manzione. Coordinated by MeZo Events.

Symbolic colors

We envisioned a classic, outdoor wedding with a lot of personal touches. We spent 9 months planning the best day of our lives! With my Chinese background, we wanted to incorporate the symbolic colors of red and gold (happiness and fortune) into the wedding. Those colors came through in the wedding party attire, flowers and decor.

An electric wedding

The clouds started rolling in after the readings and lightning bolts began striking in the distance. I know it sounds a little unbelievable but a lightning bolt actually struck when we kissed. While no bride or groom wants bad weather on their wedding day, we certainly had a unique "electric" wedding. When the ceremony ended, our family and friends showered us with a streamer exit.

Custom delights

We also featured custom cocktails - a Taipei Sparker for the bride and an Old Fashioned for the groom. Guests were encouraged to walk the grounds as they mingled. When it was time for guests to enter the reception tent, they found their seats from the custom escort cards hanging from ribbon on an wrought iron screen.

Weathering the storm

We planned everything down to the last detail but at the end of the day mother nature had other plans for our wedding. On our wedding day, we had to go with the flow, laugh and enjoy the time spent with our most beloved family and friends. We learned the most important part of our wedding day was being with the people we love. It was definitely the best weekend of our lives.
