What’s the difference between a Gatsby theme and a Gatsby inspiration? Lots and lots of sparkle! With help from Charmed Events Group, Cathy and Chhy’s modern sparkle wedding took styling cues from the over the top roaring 20’s film and ran with it! And we have to say, they did a stupendous job!

A Lovely Compromise
We got married at Rosewood Sand Hill Menlo Park because of its beautiful outdoor scenery and modern deco. I wanted a Napa style/outdoor wedding and Chhy wanted a city wedding so we met half way at Rosewood which met both of our needs.
The vows we wrote our own vows separately and didn’t share with each other until the ceremony. Our vows turned out to be very similar and rhymed more proof that we’re soul mates.
Gatsby Inspiration
I was thinking of Great Gatsby theme but it was too difficult to incorporate the theme with our modern style so we ended up using it as an inspiration instead hence the art deco and lots of geometric shapes for the design. The main theme of the wedding was metallic theme with different shades of gold / rose gold / silver.
Make It Personal
We tried to keep the size of the wedding small so that it would be a more intimate setting and we would have more time to spend with our family and friends. In terms of creative touches, we took dance lessons prior to the wedding so that we could do a choreographed dance as our first dance as husband and wife, and incorporated our dog Coco into the wedding.
