vintage wedding party attire

The bride wore a vintage white dress and a veil. She also had some bright red accents completing her look like her lips, her nails and her bouquet. The groomsmen went for black and white shoes and old fashioned suits with bow ties. The venue matched the chosen style perfectly. It was decorated with lots of flowers, vintage signs and there was even a typewriter skillfully implemented into the design. The whole day felt like we were really back to the past!

retro wedding venue

It was really the inside of the Montclair Women's Cultural Arts Club that inspired our wedding style. I always wanted a vintage wedding, complete with unique retro touches, and music from the 40's, 50's, and 60's. I did all of the flowers the day before. On the day of, we arrived and everything was already set up and the caterer and venue made sure it looked flawless. They were also very patient with me as I tried to "help" direct where the flowers needed to go, and what the centerpieces needed to look like.

themed wedding music

Once I got into my dress, we headed to the small garden to do a first look. My husband cried, and YourDreamPhoto did a wonderful job capturing the moments. The ceremony was lovely, my favorite inclusion was the adapted version of "Oh, The Places You Will Go!" by Dr. Suess, read by a close friend. Dancing with all of my closest friends and family was an amazing experience! Near the end, we lit up around 200 sparklers outside on the patio beneath the stars, and danced our way through the decades to the 90's music until everyone headed home.

Budgets are beautiful

I wish I would have kept a smaller budget. Although everything was beautiful, and I loved all of the details, and the venue, I think it is important to remember it takes place on just one day, save your money for a down payment on a house, or a longer honeymoon! See the bride's budget breakdown below!
