Ceremony Backdrop Options
With so many backdrop ideas out there it’s easy to overlook some of your options. Here are some of our favorites:
Garland Curtains:
These are a great idea if you want to create a unique wedding look. We’ve seen everything from chili peppers to feathers strung up, and they’re all gorgeous. One of the best thing about garland is that whatever is behind them is still fairly visible so they conform to the scenery instead of obtruding. Perfect if you’re tying the knot on a beach (seashell garlands? oh yes!) or in a flower garden.
Ribbon Streamers:
If you’re looking for a pop of color ribbons might be what you want! You can use anything from crepe paper and tulle to satin ribbons, rope, or cloth strips in as many colors that you want. A kaleidoscope of colors is at your beck and call. These are so cute and versatile that they can be used for any wedding. Throw in some lace and burlap if you’re feeling rustic, or some rope if you’re dreaming of the beach.
Arches:
The most common form of backdrop is the wedding arch. You can decorate them with just about anything. Floral covered arches look extremely gorgeous and glamorous but if you’re looking for something a little more whimsical and fun you can go for hanging mason jars, parasols, and even pinwheels! All Natural:
Have a green thumb or just love nature? Then maybe you just want to let the environment speak for itself. Orchards, beautiful large trees, and sparkling fountains all make stunning backdrops, and can of course be accented with decor that ties into your wedding feel. Sometimes sweet and simple is the best way to go.
Runners:
Roll out the red carpet you diva queens! If you’re having a cloth or paper aisle runner continue it up a wall for a cohesive and cute wedding backdrop. A tip for extra cuteness? Write the words of a love letter or song on the part up the wall.
Furniture:
Vintage and shabby chic lovers this one’s for you! Gorgeous vintage pieces including mantles, tables, dressers, and more can make the perfect statement piece. Keep in mind these pieces might be heavy and bulky so make sure you have adequate transportation methods!
