Kelley's flowers included Queen Anne’s lace, stock, golden rod, and even fresh picked rosemary from her garden, giving each bouquet a sense of the wild. Kelley’s bouquet was even adorned by an heirloom from her grandmother, a rhinestone vintage brooch. Fitting, as it was, that her grandmother’s nickname was ‘the Queen,’ giving another nod to her English counterpart.

Love from across the pond

Kelley and Murray first met across the pond while Kelley was studying abroad in England. Charmed by his sharp wit, sweet demeanor, and that awfully alluring accent, their friendship soon turned to romance.

Penrose Farm, their wedding venue, mirrored an English Garden with such finely manicured landscaping set a top the rolling hills of East Tennessee. With such details as the groom’s cravat, ladies in big hats and fascinators, union jack socks, hand made bunting, and delectable Victorian sponge cake, English flair was not to be missed.

In fact, were it not for the bluegrass string band, whiskey barrels, mason jars and slow cooked BBQ, guests could have easily mistaken their whereabouts and departed driving on the left side of the road.

Even the most fervent wedding cake skeptics couldn’t resist the tantalizing options available. From Italian cream, to carrot, to Victorian sponge, to rich chocolate, the cakes were homemade and undeniable. And if that wasn’t enough, the wedding favors were personal, single-serving apple and cherry pies baked earlier that week by both families.
