Words from the Vendors

From Marilyn Duvall Photography:This wedding was a “southern bohemian” handmade, free- spirited backyard affair. Jade and Josh held their reception in the most quaint backyard surrounded by hand sewn vintage quilts, an array of colorful florals and prints.

Jade’s dress was an intricate stunner by Anna Campbell Design. Jade was adorned with a floral crown and crystal barefoot sandals – everything bohemian in my book! All of the bridesmaids were stunners in boho knee lengths gowns and different head bands. The groom and groomsmen took a more laid back approach with very relaxed attire. The day was nothing short of details, foot loose, and fancy free!

Planning Tips

Are you planning a backyard bash for after your vows? We have a few tips that might help in the planning process:
Weather Watch:
Check your areas precipitation averages to help choose a day less likely to rain. But just in case, be sure to provide tents or keep your guest list low enough for things to move indoors should there be a surprise rain shower.

Parking:
Provide an alternate parking location for guests and have them shuttled . Also, inform your neighbors ahead of time so that they will not be surprised by the influx of activity in the neighborhood.
Keep it Casual:
Spread the word that this will be a low key event and that guests should dress comfortably. You can also keep costs down by sticking to picnic style disposable dinner ware rather then renting china and stemware. Plus, clean up will be a breeze!

Set the Mood:
Christmas lights don’t have to be used just in the month of December. Pull out those white twinkle lights and hang them in areas where guests will be congregated (i.e. the cake table, the buffet, the guestbook/display table, etc.) If there is a chance of bugs think about setting a citronella candle on each table. Not only will they ward off unwanted creatures they will give each table a romantic atmosphere!
