Favorite Sports Team Colors As Wedding Colors!
When the groom was asked what colors he preferred for a wedding he replied with, “Weddings have colors?” followed by a strong preference for NHL Sharks colors of black, teal, and orange. Incorporating his color preference with her love of bold and bright colors, the contrast of the two color palettes played out harmoniously. Having a broad color palette lead to having more flexibility with the design of the event, but still achieved a cohesive overall concept
Make Your Boutonnieres Super!
Since boutonnieres are the man’s bouquet the groom chose to spice them up with a little super hero action. Each groomsman picked out their favorite character from Marvels X-men, and had it incorporated into the boutonniere.
Oh The Places You'll Go!
Since the Groom serves in the military and moves quite frequently the brides father made a sign to represent all the places they have been (South Korea, Fort Hood, Fort Sill…etc), plus one just for fun(“Death Star” pointing to the sky)! Having design elements that different members of the family could contribute to or be apart of helped add meaning and create a greater connection for them to the event.
The event was held over Labor Day weekend at the gorgeous Thomas Fogarty Winery in Woodside, CA.The location was chosen for its beauty and it’s exceptional indoor/outdoor event space that it provided a wonderful flow for the event. Different parts of the night were staged in separate areas that all transitioned nicely for the guests who moved from one to the other.
Make Your Reception Entrance Your Own!
After the guests were seated for dinner, the groomsmen were introduced into the dinner to the sound of Mario Kart music along with fake cardboard karts that they pretended to drive around the seated guests.
Every wedding has that one table that thinks they are the BEST table at the wedding, and the coolest kids in town. Playing on this idea each tables were named things like “The Fabulous Table”, “The Superb Table”, and “The Ultimate Table” in order to make every guest feel like they are on top. This turned out to be one of the most memorable items from the wedding that people still talk about today.
In recognition to all the marriages that inspired the bride and groom, and taught them about commitment and true love, family members attending the event were asked to send in pictures of themselves at their weddings to decorate each cocktail table.
The wedding theme was a combination of color, fun, and family. Everywhere that a touch of personalization and meaning could be added there was. It was important to the bride and groom that the whole event was representative of both their tastes rather than favoring one heavily over the other.
Equally as important was the comfort and enjoyment of their guests who would be sharing in this incredible day. From flip-flops for guests who wanted to ditch their heels and dance, to shawls for the cold ones, to warm chocolate chip cookies on their way out, guests were well taken care of so they could fully let loose and enjoy themselves properly.
