Dream Moments Wedding

Ryan Flynn Photography

Do you have a fantasy wedding all planned out? Are you eying a dream dress, or have plans for a blow out party? Or do you want it at some over the top venue? Claire and Ted had dreams of a once in a lifetime experience for their guests as well as some amazing photos that would last a lifetime. With these goals in mind they were excited to find the perfect venue at the Spring Creek Ranch and the dream photographer in Ryan Flynn Photography. And the rest, it seems, fell into place.

With a gorgeous and organic color pallet of soft pastels this dream moments wedding is one you are sure to remember. If you are itching to see more, don’t forget to take a look at the full gallery.

As you may know from our Little Twist Dress collection by Dessy, we love a twist wrap dress. Even though it’s not one of ours, Claire’s elegant Shareen wedding dress is to die for! So in love!

We decided to get married in Winthrop after a road trip brought us up the Methow Valley in 2010. We knew that we wanted to get married there since it truly felt like the old west, and I’m not talking about the board walk and the miners museum. The warm light made it feel like the west, the rolling hills and big sky.

We wanted long days, and of course a dry, outdoor wedding. We wanted to take our guests to a special place, that they wouldn’t have otherwise experienced if it wasn’t for our wedding. We knew it had to be outdoors with a lot of open space. Spring Creek Ranch was perfect for just that. Large manicured lawn surrounded by alfalfa fields made it feel like our own farm. We also made a lot of the decorations ourselves.

We wanted our wedding to feel simple, but timeless and elegant. These are the same reasons we chose Ryan Flynn Photography as our wedding photographer. His photos have a classic and vintage feel without trying too hard. We wanted someone that used different mediums – film and digital. Ultimately we wanted our wedding pictures to look just as good 30 years from now, and not look ‘dated’ by trendy photography methods.

Check out this couples stellar idea for letting their guests know where to find nibbles and nosh! Giant light up signs are a must, and they also provide a fun way to light your reception after dark. We approve!

I wouldn’t really do much differently, we got really lucky. We didn’t taste our food or hear our band before the wedding day and they both worked out great! I guess the one thing I would change would be to prepare to spend at least 30% more than you think you are going to spend. That might not be the case for everyone, but it definitely was for us. Our ‘budget’ was to do everything as cheaply as possibly (for the most part, we splurged on a few items like photography) and we still spent a lot more than we had planned.

Malibu Forest DIY Wedding

cute floral and lace getting ready robes

Carly and Alex said “I do” in the Malibu forest at the lovely Malibu Phoenix venue. Almost every single detail of their day was DIY. A bridesmaid made their cakes, the bride designed her own dress, mismatched ivory bridesmaid dresses were all unique and vintage, and the bride made all her reception details. These two love nature, family, and each other, and their day was an absolute reflection of that.

There’s so much love bursting from the seams of this Malibu forest DIY wedding that we couldn’t fit it all in! See every darling detail in the full gallery here, beautifully captured by Intuitive Images Photography.

One of the details of this wedding that you absolutely cannot ignore, are the darling scrapbook-esque escort cards. Each one is completely unique and together hung in the frames create a stunning display.

The bride DIY’ed her heart out for her wedding. From the sweetheart table to the S’mores station; the flowers were also by the bride. She went to the downtown flower district the day before her wedding and chose from what was in season.

If you can’t decide which two…or three, or four cake flavors you want at your wedding, let’s just face it, we all love cake, then no problem! Just have a range of smaller cakes and that way you get a large variety of flavors and designs!
