romantic wedding ideas

Caitlin and Henry tied the knot in a romantic Jewish ceremony at The Green Building in Brooklyn, New York. While the wedding took place in an industrial building in the middle of the city, touches of the outdoors were brought in through floral decorations and rustic details.

From Michelle Edgemont:Caitlin and Henry were married on a brisk, February day at The Green Building in Brooklyn, NY. Beautifully captured by photographer Inbal Sivan, their wedding was full of personalized details, artistic touches and a crazy surprise for guests at the reception.

A traditional chuppah was made into a family heirloom by the bride's mother by hand-sewing a cloth out of the bride's father's clothing.

Both being trapeze artists by trade and honoring Caitlin's late father's love for the Adirondack mountains, their wedding was quirky and fun with carnival and nature-inspired details.

I hand painted wooden vases with scenes of the mountains and filled them with overflowing, seasonal florals and greens. The tables held woven chargers, gold rimmed wine glasses and handmade tree slice place cards.

Read on to learn what Caitlin would have done differently.

Would you have done anything differently? Two things: First, I wish I hadn't stressed out so much - I was so focused on making things sure things went smoothly and ran on time that I wasn't myself for the initial part of the day and wasn't able to be present in the moment. I felt amazing after the ceremony was over but the day passes by so quickly that I wish I hadn't been so wrapped up for much of it.

Second, I wish we had taken our wedding party and family photos inside. The photographer wanted natural light to shoot us and I liked the outside of our venue, but even wearing sweaters and suits we were all absolutely freezing in the early February weather and in the photos we all look a bit...cold as a result. I should have just put my foot down and figured out an indoor solution for this purpose.
