Colorful Up Inspired Wedding

Chrystal and Ruel wanted their wedding to be fun, memorable and colorful. They love the movie “UP” and used the film as their wedding inspiration. They love that the story is about going through the ups and downs of life together, and it doesn’t hurt that the movie is filled with color and awe inspiring details.

Thanks to a dream team of vendors including a few from our Hand-Picked collection, In The Now who designed, coordinated and put together the invites as well as the talented florist The Vine’s Leaf. As always, there are a ton more photos to see in the full gallery here, all captured by Tim and Jess.

From The Bride:

We personalized a few items in the wedding to make it more our own. My friends and I created the bouquets, corsages, bottle cap boutonnieres, and the pinwheels for the backdrop. Everything else was left to the expertise of In The Now Weddings. They were incredible! They really paid attention to every detail.

Everyone involved in the day made us feel very relaxed. We could not have picked a better group of vendors to help make the day happen. From the icebreakers by Station Identification to keep the party going, to Tim & Jess and Chapter Fold for capturing all the moments throughout the day and making us feel comfortable in front of cameras, Greg for performing our ceremony, Tropical Shave Ice for keeping our friends and family cool, and the delicious BBQ from Wood Ranch.

Our most memorable moment of the day was during our first dance with, “Because of You” being sung by our friend Karol. It was when we were able to let the moment sink in. It was like we were the only ones there. The rest of the night went by quickly, which proves that time flies when you’re having fun!

Their Advice
Our advice to couples preparing for their big day is to create a budget, and make sure to stick with it. Don’t be afraid to look for other affordable options, and always take advantage of help when offered. Remember to relax, have fun with the process, and enjoy the full experience together.

These late night treat boxes should be a staple at every single wedding. Filled with chips, candy, donuts and cookies in a to-go donut box. A completely brilliant idea .. don’t you think?

Be sure to watch the entire film from Chapterfold Productions. We really do love when you can see everything in real-life. Another reason why should totally hire a cinematographer.

Hooray, you are engaged and you cannot stop staring at your ring. That sparkly physical reminder of your love needs to be protected wherever you go from loss, theft, damage and mysterious disappearances. Jewelers Mutual’s Perfect Circle Jewelry Insurance can help you with all of that and more. If anything would ever happen to your cherished ring their goal is to repair or replace it with the same kind and quality so it is virtually indistinguishable from the original.

For 100 years, Jewelers Mutual Insurance Company has specialized only in jewelry insurance. From coverage to claims to replacements and beyond, they make it their mission to protect and maintain the value of each unique piece because they know how important it is you. Below are a few unique engagement rings that we wish we could insure.

In order to guarantee that your ring is protected as well as it can be, properly insure your ring with a trust-worthy company like Jewelers Mutual Insurance Company.

Maui Wedding Venue | Old Lahaina Prison

We have been planning a trip for Hawaii for the last two years. The date for our sunny vacation is still unknown, but we are determined to say “Aloha” sometime soon. When we do, we might swing by this incredible Maui wedding venue. Set behind high lava rock walls right in the middle of downtown Lahaina is the building that housed the original Old Lahaina Prison. The location now hosts weddings and parties, and is also a museum. So, you can walk around and visit the prison and learn a bit of the Lahaina history.

To give you a little taste of this enchanting venue, Opihi Love set the stage with her amazing props and style for this jailhouse wedding inspiration shoot. All captured by Hawaiian wedding photographers, Wendy Laurel & Images by Jeffrey. There are way more photos to view in the full gallery here.

Wendy Laurel created a large bar menu- an inexpensive way to add drama to your bar. Since the prison was the backdrop she came up with great signature drink names, and Miss B Calligraphy  showcased her creative chalkboard talents.

Opihi Love and  Wendy Laurel played homage to the prison by using black and white linens, the chain on back of the chairs and the vintage style bottles and props.

Valentine’s Date Ideas

Get ready for a super fun Valentine’s idea from Purple Meadows Events and Anokiart Photography. Inspired by the hit tv show “How I Met Your Mother”. There was a cute episode where the character Ted wants to take a girl on a date, but she has only two minutes of free time, so he sets up a five minute date to impress her. Besides being absolutely adorable, this would also make a great surprise Valentine’s Day for your love. You can see more of this inspirational shoot in the full gallery here.

From Anokiart Photography
The Shoot day arrived and we headed to the Art District of Downtown Los Angeles where we met up with the lovely Christine Redmon of Leading Lady Makeup and our sweet models Laura M. Steigers and Kevin Barrett, who happen to be dating in real life. We created five different dating scenes and used a combination of fun vibrant colors of oranges, reds and yellows.

The scenes we set up for the date were: a lunch date, a movie, dessert, and a bike ride. A great time was had by all and this vision was brought to life by this awesome team. Debra, Christine, and I are very grateful to our talented models and our creative partners: Alicia Rohan of A & P Designs, Kerrim Albanes of My Wedding Blooms, Emilee Sutherland of Tasteful Tatters, and a special thank you to Victor Mueller for his support and help!
