Our next wedding is not only seriously fancy, but also seriously stylish. With the bride in a drop dead gorgeous blush pink Vera Wang gown, the groom and his men in dapper black tuxedos and a venue overlooking the Pacific the day was beyond perfect. We also must mention that their wedding cake hung from the ceiling. A definite must see!
A day designed by the bride and perfectly coordinated by Details Details. You can see more more stunning photos from Chenin Boutwell in the full gallery, and read on to hear more details about Belinda and Stephen’s elegant Pelican Hil Wedding.

The dress was an easy decision. Stephen’s requests for the wedding were simple- keep it at budget and no giant “poofy” dresses. She knew she found the right gown when she came out of the dressing room in her blush Vera Wang dress to show her Honorary Bridesman, who deftly said “Belinda, if YOU don’t buy this dress, I’M going to buy it and wear it to your wedding.” So she bought the dress.

As an homage to their engagement in Napa Valley, the couple created a Napa Valley-themed wine tasting bar at the cocktail reception. Guests were treated to a wine flight that consisted of wines Belinda and Stephen tasted during their engagement trip. A wine tasting menu describing what the couple did at each winery as well as “I Do” letters made of wine cork capped off the experience.

To get away from the look of traditional wedding centerpieces Belinda worked closely with her florist, Debbie Fields from Floral Fields, to create unique centerpieces in a variety of heights. In a look that Debbie called, “organic elegance,” the arrangements featured mercury candles, twisted grapevine and abundant flowers in a variety of fuchsia and deep purple hues and textures.
Belinda wanted a grand look with lots of scale for the reception room. She had seen the hanging cake in another wedding at Pelican Hill, so she hired a carpenter she knew from Disney to re-invent the look using the gold and chocolate tones of the wedding. The bride also wanted dramatic height incorporated into the room, so she enlisted the same carpenter to create playful two-tiered centerpieces made out of plywood and eucalyptus branches.

In designing her wedding, Belinda – a former Event Producer for Disney – was inspired by both Napa Valley where Steve proposed and their venue The Resort at Pelican Hill. She wanted a colorful palette that would both evoke the organic feel of Napa Valley and yet still be sophisticated enough to work with the resort, so she settled on gold, chocolate brown and bright fuschia. Falling dots organically became a recurring theme in the wedding. The couple’s wedding invitations featured a falling dot motif which the couple then echoed onto their programs, menus, dance floor and even on the monitors in the room. Belinda relied on a former colleague from Disney to help create a “trailer” that featured their names,” Belinda & Stephen,” with dots gracefully falling and surrounding the couple’s names. The trailer loop turned out to be great eye candy for the guests during the reception.
With intimate up-lighting, textured patterns on the walls and mercury candles that glowed gold, the room glistened with a sophisticated mood just in time for the couple’s first dance -a waltz with a surprise swing dance complete with Steve rocking the Running Man.

I think the purples are a great color for Napa Valley, along with the bride in a blush dress. I don’t know if this was on purpose or not, but it looks beautiful!
