Central California Rustic Wedding

We really want you to watch the film above, and share with us if you think it is as adorable as we did. Threaded Films documented the wedding rehearsal, all the way to the sparkler exit. The whole shabang and then some. Threaded films is part of our Hand-Picked Collection, you can learn more about them here.

Bonus! Besides the wedding film, we have all the photos from Nick Radford Photography. You can see everything in action and up close. Be sure to scroll down to read about how the bride and groom hand-crafted their wedding from scratch. One of our favorite elements has to be the reception bar that was hand-made by the groom. It even comes with built in beer taps. Don’t worry there are a ton more photos in the  full gallery to see from this central California rustic wedding.

In order to wear your hair down for your wedding, you definitely need to wear the right dress. Rachels’s sweetheart neckline and fitted bodice goes perfectly with her cascading curls. A definite go-to glamorous style by San Luis Obispo makeup and hair stylists The Queen’s Bees.

Guests were given mason jars with labels to write their names on their cups. Always a great idea to cut down on costs and eliminate trash. Rachel and Bradon served lavender lemonade and ice water with lemon. We found similar Glass Drink Dispenser over here from Pottery Barn. You can do a sangria, punch or any iced thirst-quencher of your choice.

We are loving this wedding venue, Spanish Oaks Ranch event center is conveniently located in the heart of California’s Central Coast, halfway between San Francisco and Los Angeles. Overlooking the rolling hills and lake surrounded by magnificent oaks, such an amazing place for a rustic outdoor wedding.

Don’t think we forgot about the adorable flower girl above! How fancy does she look in her customized wagon?

Rachel and Brandon set out to create a destination wedding that took their guests out of the daily grind and placed them in the beauty and tranquility of Central California at Spanish Oaks Ranch. Taking the Do-It-Yourself theme to an entirely new level, Rachel and Brandon hand crafted virtually every piece of the wedding day decor. From the place cards that dangled from the distressed wood hand-made place card frame, to the table numbers, no two alike, all made from various pieces of wood and doo-dads. . . .to the reception bar that was hand-made by Brandon himself, with built in beer taps – this wedding was entirely crafted from scratch.

See more hand crafted table numbers in the full gallery. Are you loving how each one is different?

Being given the honor of documenting this day was one of my personal highlights of 2012. The photos hardly do it justice. The way Brandon and Rachel love each other is inspiring, and the way they cared for making their wedding an extension of their own personalities was truly incredible.

Thanks wedding chicks for appreciating these two as much as I do.

Thank you so much for featuring our special day- it’s surreal to see our amazing images and film trailer up on your site! We truly had some amazing vendors (some local to us, others local to the destination) that made our day unforgettable.

To the ladies asking, I had my socks custom made by a seller on Etsy named AlohaBlu. She was amazing to work with and I love the socks :)

Budgetary restrictions are another reason to pass on serving alcohol, or a couple just night not enjoy drinking and see no reason to have it be a part of their wedding day.  Here are a few ways to make sure your dry wedding runs smoothly.
